Dr. Pinto is running a tight ship here. New bed! Clean! Excellent, knowledgeable staff connected monitoring equipment and thoroughly explained everything. Phone staff very responsive and communicated with me regarding any questions (must leave message for them). They also squeezed me in on a cancellation they had, which helped my schedule … You’ll think you’d have trouble sleeping with a bunch of wires attached. Nope! Technician Van said, “We got all the data we need. You slept plenty.” Thank you, Van! They monitor many things— eye movement, leg movement, heart beats, etc. Very thankful to have folks here in our community that take this test so seriously! Photo with the water bottle is the EEG sensor residue on my face afterwards, which mostly wipes away. Later at home, I removed it from m

Asleep at the switch! Arrived promptly @8:30pm 11/29 as per text message. Door locked and had to knock 3 times like a speakeasy before a woman dressed in a medical pink uniform let me in. She casually informed me I would have to wait 11/2 to 2 hrs because 2 people arrived ahead of me.(Red flag) What is the point of being on time ? Then she told ne I had veen cancelled.I told her to reschedule me and walked out. Very unprofessional operation DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

the location is ill equipped to be a sleep center. the walls are paper thin. trains go by loud as day, and theres a dog who lives near by which may as well be sitting directly next to you. the room you sleep in has a blue light clock directly in your line of vision, along with other various lights littered around. im not sure if this is a normal thing, but they're going to wake you up 4 hours mid sleep and tell you to go home. so they'll have you drive home sleep deprived and very much under the influence of your sleep medications. in the end, the results came back with a "everything is fine!", which is very much not the case. but whatever as for the good, the beds are comfy, the staff is nice.

Showed up for my sleep study at 8:15 PM on September 14th, 2023, as instructed, for my 8:30 sleep study and the technician never showed. Me, and 3 other individuals, were left waiting there for 30 minutes before we were notified that nobody was going to show up that evening and to go home. When I say notified, I mean that I called to find out what was going on myself. I was advised by Crystal, the after hours representative, that I would receive a call from the supervisor, Nicholas Holland, to resolve the issue. He never called and Crystal’s line was forwarded to voicemail. Completely unprofessional considering the patients made the commitment to be there promptly. Others took off work for this and people took sleeping medications, per instructions, and are now forced to go against recomme

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Total Sleep Management

What does Total Sleep Management do?

Total Sleep Management is a sleep medicine clinic in Rockledge, FL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Total Sleep Management?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Total Sleep Management directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Total Sleep Management?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Total Sleep Management?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
