I recently had a sleep study done for medical reasons. I was hesitant because in the past you had to go t a facility and spend the night. With this medical facility I was able to do the study at home, very convenient. My doctor explained everything in a manor that was easy to understand. The doc could not has been any more concern about my health, he was excellent. The staff as well were incredibly. If you need a sleep study, Insommia and Sleep Institute of AZ will not disappoint you.

The office was clean and quiet; I never waited very long in the waiting room. The staff was always kind and helpful and very pleasant. Dr. Wasey has a wonderful manner when dealing with his patients, very soft-spoken and I never felt pressured into any treatment or afraid to ask any questions. I can see why he has so many current Best Doctor awards in his office! I would highly recommend him.

All throughout, I had an excellent experience. The sleep study was great, like staying in a nice hotel room & the assistant was very friendly & professional. Results came back quickly, a consultation soon after & within a few days, I received my new CPAP machine. Sleeping soundly ever since. Thanks!!

I contacted this company hoping to get help with my ongoing sleep issues. The initial experience was positive: the appointment went well, the sleep study was completed without problems, and I was fitted for a CPAP mask without issue. About a month later, I scheduled another appointment because I was rolling over in my sleep and knocking the mask loose, which prevented me from using it consistently. During that appointment, I was fitted for a different mask and told it would arrive with my next supply shipment. It never arrived. A month passed without any communication. Work became busy, and another month went by before I realized I still hadn't heard anything. I sent a message through the online portal, and about a week later, I finally received a call informing me that my insurance wou

I would strongly recommend looking at other sleep study centers before choosing the Insomnia Institute. From the start, the experience felt disorganized. Their written instructions say to arrive between 7:30 and 8:30 PM, but then you receive a text telling you to arrive at exactly 8:00 PM. When you get there, everyone is standing in the lobby holding pillows like an awkward adult sleepover. To make matters worse, there are multiple lobbies, and if you happen to go to the wrong one, you definitely get the impression you’ve inconvenienced the staff. I arrived five minutes early and was shown to my “bedroom” at 8:01 PM. I was told someone would “be right back.” That “minute” turned into 58 minutes. The technician didn’t return until 8:59 PM, leaving me standing in the room with no explanati

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about The Insomnia & Sleep Institute of Arizona
What does The Insomnia & Sleep Institute of Arizona do?
The Insomnia & Sleep Institute of Arizona is a sleep medicine clinic in Scottsdale, AZ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at The Insomnia & Sleep Institute of Arizona?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact The Insomnia & Sleep Institute of Arizona directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at The Insomnia & Sleep Institute of Arizona?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at The Insomnia & Sleep Institute of Arizona?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
