Providers are amazing, but billing has been an absolute nightmare. I switched insurance at the beginning of the year, I was proactive and switched my insurance information as soon as I got my new cards - big mistake. I think they were a little behind on billing and hadn’t submitted my December claim to my insurance - so they sent the claim to my new insurance, which obviously got denied. I’ve gotten so many calls/emails/texts about my overdue balance, I ask them if they submitted it to my old insurance yet and they act like it’s brand new information - we’ve talked on the phone about it a dozen times at least. I also ended up with a surplus of supplies, and cancelled my autoship, I still got supplies the next quarter. I called, they had no record of the cancellation and confirmed they wer

I really appreciate the care and attention that I received at the Insomnia and Sleep Institute’s Phoenix location. I was seen as soon as I arrived and my appointment was completed in less than 40 minutes. My concerns were heard and taken care of on my first visit. Thank you for a job well done!!

Don't come here unless you want your bank account drained. 300 dollars for a phonecall to tell me what the app they had me download already told me. The girl at the front counter could not have a bigger frown. Made me feel like a nuisance even being there. The mountain of paper work and then a wopping 5 minutes with the doctor. The home sleep study barley worked. 0/10 poor experience id rather sleep poorly than ever come back here

I went to see Dr Townsend at the Phoenix clinic on Tuesday. She is very personable and really easy to talk to. She bring us to your attention things you didn't know and things you didn't know you knew!! I really enjoy my time with her and she has taught me a lot about myself and my sleeping patterns. The Phoenix staff is really awesome and I'm so glad they opened this office as it is 10 minutes from where I live!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona

What does The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona do?

The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona is a sleep medicine clinic in Phoenix, AZ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at The Insomnia and Sleep Institute of Arizona?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
