Dr. Anderson is the BEST Dr. I have ever been to. I sincerely mean this, not just for his specialty, but ANY type of Dr. He is the most personable, friendly, kind, knowledgeable expert, who truly cared and showed compassion! He explained things clearly, answered all my questions in detail, gave me the results immediately, and the appt was seemless. He listened to my scheduling feedback and said he would follow up. I can tell he truly loves what he does, and shines through! I wish all doctors were like him bc it makes the biggest difference. You're never going to the Dr. for fun. He deserves tremendous recognition! Also the front desk girl at the Goodyear office is amazing, efficient, and personable too. What a great experience! Thank you so much! Kudos.

I have been a patient of Dr Anderson for over 20 years. He is very, Knowledgeable, Compassionate And will take his time with you and not rush you and will address all your concerns. His Np Albert is Awesome, very knowledgeable and explains things well. I was surprised to see that the ratings were low.I have never seen the other physician but it seems like he’s the one bringing down the ratings on this practice. I’m not sure. I would definitely recommend Dr Anderson to anyone

Dr. Anderson and the MA were amazing and understanding. I truly felt heard and cared for during my visit. I did, however, feel sorry for the front desk staff member. It seemed like she was short-staffed and becoming understandably overwhelmed. There were many patients checking in and checking out at the same time, which appeared to put a lot of pressure on her. I hope the office can consider additional support for the front desk, as it seemed like she was doing her best in a very busy situation.

While I truly appreciate and trust Dr Torzala, I'm not keen on the wait times. It happens every time. I get to the office 15 minutes early, I check in and have a seat. I'm called into the office at my scheduled time and get my blood pressure checked. 3 minutes tops. Then, I sit and wait for the doctor 30 minutes. The doctor comes in with laptop, asks how I'm doing, takes a little over 2 minutes, tops. Why? Are other patients taking all the time? My appointment is usually the first of the morning. They list monetary penalties if I dare come late or don't call to reschedule or don't show up at all. Maybe they should initiate a lateness payment jar. For every 5 minutes passed the scheduled appointment where a patient is waiting to see the doctor, they place $5 in their jar. When the jar becom

I have chronic insomnia. I've been seeing a nurse practitioner, but she moved on somewhere else. The prescription she gave me did not work. Kept me awake for more than 36hrs. I booked another appointment and new doc suggested another med. The first and last thing I asked her was NOT to call in the new prescription without a prior authorization because my insurance is very strict on this rule. Well, she did and now I have to wait 3 days till I can call them and tell them what the pharmacy needs before they can fill my prescription, since its a holiday weekend. She just didn't listen...No sleep for me anytime soon.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Phoenix Neurology & Sleep Medicine
What does Phoenix Neurology & Sleep Medicine do?
Phoenix Neurology & Sleep Medicine is a sleep medicine clinic in Goodyear, AZ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Phoenix Neurology & Sleep Medicine?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Phoenix Neurology & Sleep Medicine directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Phoenix Neurology & Sleep Medicine?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Phoenix Neurology & Sleep Medicine?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
