First experience at Henry Ford Columbus Center at 12 Mile in Novi was Excellent! Early morning appointment with Dr. White in Sports Medicine and despite the wee hour everyone was friendly and very helpful. The site was clean, parking was a breeze and everything was easy to find. Sports Medicine is on the first floor beside the Security Station and Elevators. I didn’t need them this time because everything was so easily accessible for us, but was grateful to see the abundant amount of wheelchairs accessible for use if needed for patients with difficulty walking. We came for a knee injury and thought we may need it, but we were close enough that we managed without. However, k owing they were there relieved a lot of anxiety as we managed a new facility. Can’t say enough about Dr. White! LOVE

Would not recommend at all. Every time I have come I have arrived early and had to wait 30+ minutes. Once I waited over an hour and a half just for a strep test. It also doesn’t seem like they take my concerns seriously at all. The CVS minute clinic cared more than my primary care Dr. here.

I have called this office 5 times now to get an appointment. They completely make you jump through hoops just to get an appointment. I had their "staff" tell me that when they received info from the previous doc along with the referral, they would call me w/in 7 days to schedule that appointment! This has been a 2 month process!! I've had to call them every time, I never received a call!! UNACCEPATABLE!!!

My husband taken to colonoscopy at 10 am , I received text message by close to noon from my husband that he is still waiting for the doctor to arrive. I asked to speak with the nurse and nurse said “doctor Glenn arrived late and stay late to a surgery also has another surgery before the surgery of your husband “ . I understand this happens but it’s not understandable to have one doctor to have all this surgeries booked up so close. I should’ve known better. Very disappointing.

I called in trying to make an appointment with endocrinologist, I didn't know my doc left( I used to see her once in 2-3 years just for check up). Receptionist was rude ,told me that I needed to be treated as a NEW patient, somebody will call me in a couple days to schedule an appointment - 10 days later still NOTHING. And it is not first time. So I just made an appointment with a different facility Hf hospital used to be the best ,but it in a past. Now all the hospitals are about the same- luck of humanity & help, even ER are terrible. All you get -just the bill & the bill often is incorrect, I had to hire patient advocate a couple years ago to resolve it ,because nobody listened to me about the bill issue, they even torn me to collection agency ,which was the throat cutters .Caused me lo

For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Frequently asked questions about Henry Ford Sleep Center - Columbus

What does Henry Ford Sleep Center - Columbus do?

Henry Ford Sleep Center - Columbus is a sleep medicine clinic in Novi, MI that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Henry Ford Sleep Center - Columbus?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Henry Ford Sleep Center - Columbus directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Henry Ford Sleep Center - Columbus?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Henry Ford Sleep Center - Columbus?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
