The Dr's are good but good luck trying to get someone to answer the phone. Literally was on wait for 30 min and had to hang up cause I was at work. Requested a call back for a prescription I couldn't afford ($600) letting them know i cannot breathe and have been out for a week, is it possible to get me a coupon and/or samples amd still no call back. Called back the next day 3 times and still no one picked up the phone. They dont care if you can breathe or not. This is just unacceptable for a Dr's office especially this kind of Dr's office.

It isn't easy to find, the sign for the building is off to the right making it possible for you to miss the entrance. My only issue is that the staff didn't inform me that construction was taking place in the area so I drove in a circle and to dead end streets for 15 minutes. I ran into a mail person who directed me where to go.

To be fair, when I finally met with the doctor after waiting almost an hour in the waiting room, he was kind and attentive. However, I first tried to schedule with them on April 14th 2025, and had to call a week later to actually make an appointment for June 3rd (they never called me back). And now I have to wait 6 weeks after my sleep study to have another appointment to hear the results. This will be a total of 4 months from the first call to getting the diagnosis. If their information is inconclusive in any way I will be going to another practice. Edit: heads up - $350 bill after insurance for two separate sleep studies using fairly new (to them) technology and it was inconclusive/they couldn't tell anything by it both times. Extremely upsetting experiences here from original attempts

These people need to learn to answer the damn phone. I’ve been on hold for twenty plus minutes three separate times over the past week to reschedule an appointment.

I don't know what happened with the people who gave negative reviews but I've been coming here for at least 6 years and everyone is always friendly. The longest I've ever sat in the wait room was maybe 20 minutes and once during Covid I waited in the exam room for about 40 minutes but it was just that one time. I see Dr. Sinha and he's always been courteous and helpful.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Consultants in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine PLLC

What does Consultants in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine PLLC do?

Consultants in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine PLLC is a sleep medicine clinic in Farmington Hills, MI that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Consultants in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine PLLC?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Consultants in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine PLLC directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Consultants in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine PLLC?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Consultants in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine PLLC?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
