This place is running some kind of racket. My husband went and people were upset with the front desk which was our first red flag. The Dr we saw was very nice and said he'd get my husband all set up with the sleep study but it would take 2 weeks for insurance. He did a breathing test, had him go get chest x ray, blood work and come back weeks later. He again asked about sleep study and we had called twice with no return calls prior to his second visit. They again said waiting on insurance. I called the insurance after his appt. and they said nothing was submitted to them. Meanwhile we called no less than 6 times...3 from me 3 from him and no return calls. He never got access to his portal after being told they would email link over. The office is mess with stacked papers all over and they

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of care and communication from this office. Around March 26, I went in for a follow-up because my CPAP machine is no longer working properly. I was told I needed a new sleep study and that they would submit everything to insurance for authorization. Two months went by with absolutely no updates. On May 6, I contacted my insurance company myself and was told that nobody from the doctor’s office had even contacted them. After I complained to the office, the authorization was finally submitted that same day, but it was denied almost immediately because the request apparently did not include proper medical justification — even though the reasons were already documented in my records. I am not asking for anything “free.” I simply need the required sle

This place deserves zero stars. They insisted that my mother needed to go in for a sleep study. I got her there ahead of her scheduled time, but they were running late — no one came and told us that, we just sat there forever. This was 10:30 at night. My mother is over 80 and doesn’t get around easily and she and I were both exhausted. I had to pick her up at 5:30 the next morning. Then when she went back to get her results, they forgot about her appointment and gave her some story about having a special meeting at that time, but they said they could see her immediately afterward, she would just have to wait. The “special meeting” turned out to be a birthday celebration for one of the employees!!! She heard the whole thing, and one of the nurses admitted it. When they finally did see her

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about dba, Arizona Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists
What does dba, Arizona Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists do?
dba, Arizona Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists is a sleep medicine clinic in Glendale, AZ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at dba, Arizona Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact dba, Arizona Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at dba, Arizona Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at dba, Arizona Premier Pulmonary & Sleep Specialists?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
