This clinic is consistently overcrowded. The waiting room is very small and only seats about 4–5 people, with a few chairs in the hallway if you're lucky enough to find one. In my experience, wait times were often 2–3 hours before being seen. Once I was seen, the provider spent only about 10 minutes with me and did not seem particularly interested in hearing my concerns or questions. I cannot compare this clinic to other sleep clinics in El Paso, but based on my experience, I would recommend asking your primary care physician about other referral options. I also found the office to be quite disorganized. Over a two-week period, I called multiple times to clarify insurance-related questions. Each time, I was told that someone would call me back later that day, but I never received a retur

Incompetent doctor and staff. Hole in the wall practice. Absolutely no communication, office always locked , couldn’t make appointments, poor medical record keeping, never answered phones. All around terrible practice serving the community.

Incompetence is the MAIN issue besides the lack of communication! I was from 2:45 pm till 3:05 pm waiting for ANYONE to attend me meaning NO ONE was at the front desk & after knocking for 20 minutes or so FINALLY someone came who DID NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH 😩 I told her “I need to make an appointment for my patient “ she said “who? What? Wait a moment “ she left came back & said “I need I’d & insurance “ I said “mam I’m only making an appointment for my patient “ she said hold on & left & came back with a notebook & pen & said “patient information “ it was just a regular notebook 😩 I said “where’s the person that supposed to be here in registry?” She said “busy on phone “ 🥴 I waited till 3:30 pm & no one ever came to attend me🤨😞the Lady at the front seemed CLUELESS of anything! I guess

Courteous people. But very unorganized and extremely prolonged service (Dr. comes in only on Wednesdays to see patients and review records.).....started in early Jan. And still no end result/cap machine. Slept there twice. The staff stumbled through trying to explain to me the process. This is only after I asked for them to do so. If your considering this establishment, recommend you go elsewhere for better, more prompt service. Unfortunately was referred through my insurance.

WILL NEVER USE AGAIN. Botched my billing so they billed me for $600 when they were using the wrong auth number all along. Double billed me for my co-pay. Mgmt did not return calls. Developed red welts and blisters on skin from the electrodes they applied on my skin. Told me that my ONLY option was to use a cpap and referred me to their preferred vendor.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sleep Studies International
What does Sleep Studies International do?
Sleep Studies International is a sleep medicine clinic in El Paso, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sleep Studies International?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sleep Studies International directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Sleep Studies International?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Sleep Studies International?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
