I had an exceptional customer service experience with Skyler at Preferred Homecare while getting my new BiPAP machine. From start to finish, Skyler was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. He took the time to thoroughly explain the equipment, answered all of my questions with patience, and made sure I felt comfortable and confident using the machine before I left. What stood out most was his expertise and genuine willingness to help. Navigating new medical equipment can be overwhelming, but Skyler made the entire process smooth and stress-free. His outstanding customer service, attention to detail, and commitment to patient care are truly appreciated. Preferred Homecare is fortunate to have someone like Skyler on their team. I highly recommend both Skyler and Preferred Home

Kudos to Bebi and Robert for great customer service! Over the last several months, I had some questions about the effectiveness of my CPAP machine. Hesitantly, I called the company's local number expecting to be treated like a tech phobic senior citizen. Instead, I had the good fortune of chatting with Bebi who could not have been more gracious and helpful! She helped me schedule an appointment that was convenient for me. So far, so good. Arriving at my appointment, I meet with Robert who helped interpret the data that was of concern to me. He ran a diagnostic test on my machine and found it to be in good working order. Lastly, he gave me valuable tips on how better to use my machine. What started out as a dreaded experience ended up being just the opposite. Thanks, Bebi and Robert!

Very professional all employees were courteous and helpful. Different Representatives will help you through and guide you with your equipment. I was fortunate to have Robert, he was extremely informative, took time to explain and answer all of your concerns and questions as well as having a great sense of humor. Walking out of Preferred Home Care you feel confident from the counseling that was given you, that you'll be fine in running your equipment.

So my doctor put in an order for me to have a motorized chair almost a month ago. I ended up having to walk down there only to be told they needed certain documentation after I provided all the necessary documentation that they requested, which they claim was the only holdup. Now I can't get a hold of them which tells me that even if I do get the chair from them I'm not going to be able to get any assistance when I need it. Can't make the appointment for them to check my house cuz I can never get a hold of them on the phone for 10-20 minutes waiting. So yeah, I would not recommend any company that doesn't have the courtesy to either return a phone call follow through or what they claim they need to do or leave you hanging on the phone. They're off to a bad start until that is rectified. Th

AVOID if you have elderly or vulnerable family members. ⭐ 0/5 Stars (You have to put at least 1 star to write this) I cannot stress this enough: do NOT use Preferred Homecare Medical Supplies (Country Club Drive location was where we went in person, phone calls who knows where). After an extended and deeply frustrating experience, I feel obligated to warn others. 🔴 CPAP Services: The representative assigned to help us had zero patience and zero professionalism. Rather than taking time to explain how the equipment works, which is literally their job! They were dismissive, childlike in attitude, and completely unhelpful. For elderly patients who need clear guidance on medical equipment, this is not just bad service, it's a safety concern. 🔴 Nebulizer Rental Scam: Our insurance provider

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Preferred Homecare

What does Preferred Homecare do?

Preferred Homecare is a sleep medicine clinic in Tempe, AZ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Preferred Homecare?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Preferred Homecare directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Preferred Homecare?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Preferred Homecare?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
