If I could give them 0 stars I will do it. The most unorganized and unprofessional place to have a test. They told me that they only have an appointment in August and the results where going to take one month so I have to cancel my doctors appointment and move it . And then this woman Rachel called me to say that they can't perform the test because they don't have the appropriate equipment so next appointment will be until October. And if I really need the test I should go and look for another place. Mediocre attitude. What a lack of respect. I understand now why they have bad ratings during the course of the time.

My husband had his sleep study done here and went thinking he would just be going to sleep and just leave. He came home talking about how clean and how nice the equipment looked. He said that he won't go anywhere else because of how attentive and professional and caring from the staff. He wasn't really happy to have to get a sleep study but felt different after the whole time being at this great facility. If getting another sleep study it will only be with sleep diagnostic and research of tucson. I called and spoke a very kind and professional team member Rachel to get the appointment and she totally took care of insurance, authorization and anything needed. From start to finish ,very pleased.

I'm not even certain this is a real medical center, as they have failed to send me the results of my study. I did my study nearly 4 weeks ago and despite several calls and emails sent to them, they will not send me a copy of my results or even comment on the status of the review, i.e., whether or not the review is pending or completed. I cannot get in touch with anyone at the office. They will not return my correspondence. As far as I know, all they did was record me sleeping for the night for no reason other than to bill my insurance. As they have essentially not completed their duties to me the patient and customer, I am forced to give them 1 star and share my displeasure on google reviews. I wouldn't go to this office for a sleep study.

I am a veteran, and was referred to this office for a sleep study by the VA. This office received the referral on 1/25/19. They were supposed to call me and schedule an appointment in 2-3 business days. I received no phone call. On the fourth day I called this office and was told every referral needs to be approved by their medical director before they can schedule an appointment, and despite it being the fourth business day they could not schedule an appointment and would likely be calling me back later that day. You could have gotten the medical directors approval for the referral on 1/25, 1/28, 1/29, or 1/30. Your internal processes are irrelevant to me. It shouldn’t take this long to just make an appointment. They CLEARLY don’t care about veterans, or this would have been a priority

Would NEVER EVER use this facility again! Slow to respond to calls…usually having to leave multiple messages before a callback. Sleep study completed Over two months ago and and my provider still has not received the results. Don’t waste your time, money or create undue frustration and stress dealing with this place. Get a referral for somewhere else.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sleep Diagnostic & Research of Arizona

What does Sleep Diagnostic & Research of Arizona do?

Sleep Diagnostic & Research of Arizona is a sleep medicine clinic in Tucson, AZ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sleep Diagnostic & Research of Arizona?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sleep Diagnostic & Research of Arizona directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Sleep Diagnostic & Research of Arizona?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Sleep Diagnostic & Research of Arizona?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
