We have had amazing experiences here with Dr's. Randi- MA has been exceptional assisting in my mothers care. We have had absolutely no issues getting in and being seen. We were able to get an appointment quickly after my mom was discharged from the hospital. Mandy has been accomadating and so very helpful coming up with a perfect appointment time that would work for mine and my moms schedule. She is patient and has been great. I also have had a great experience with the checkout girl and she just has a great personality.

I was referred here by my pcp to follow up on a nodule that was recently found on my lung. Mandy called me back and left a voicemail. I returned her call and got her voicemail. I left a voicemail...no return call. Called back a week later, no one would answer the phone. Called Mandy's extension again, left another voicemail. Once again, did not receive a response. Called a third time a week later (today) and let the phone ring and ring, finally went to voicemail of Lisa. Left a thorough message about my experience and that I would appreciate a call back. At this point, I'm concerned about even getting involved with this practice. I have been trying for over a month to get them to return a call. I can't imagine the delays I will experience as a patient. I am not comfortable with putting my

The office overall is wonderful! Dr Bayasi is very pleasant and thorough. The scheduler Mandy was able to get me in quickly for a concerning issue. All of the MA’s are very professional and nice. I have not had an unpleasant experience with anyone except one individual in the office, who is a receptionist. Even when I went for being set up for a sleep study all of the girls were helpful and went above and beyond. However Mandy went over and beyond to be sure I was scheduled, seen and taken care of. In my opinion the practice has a wonderful scheduler and clinical staff. The dark haired receptionist that sits in the middle should probably take some lessons from the other girls in the office on how to properly treat patients. I will continue to go back to Dr Bayasi as his staff makes sure th

Dr Khorfan is my pulmonologist and he’s been a remarkable lung specialist, he has done so much for me already and he’s about to do a procedure one that I hope is gonna help me breathe better. I have Faith in him. He’s the son of Dr Khorfan that has been around for years. His father has also seen me in the hospital. I’ve seen a few doctors from this establishment but I’m the happiest I’ve been with Dr Khorfan the son. His name is Omar. I highly recommend him. I’m not sure if he’s taking new patients but if he is I would recommend him over and over again. I also can’t forget about Randi his assistant she’s so nice and will be very thorough in her job. When I call she can always answer my questions or if Dr. isn’t with anyone she will go ask him for me if she can’t answer my questions. I love

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Genesee Lung Associates
What does Genesee Lung Associates do?
Genesee Lung Associates is a sleep medicine clinic in Grand Blanc, MI that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Genesee Lung Associates?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Genesee Lung Associates directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Genesee Lung Associates?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Genesee Lung Associates?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
