AMY on the second for in the radiology department was extremely hostile and disrespectful. (Her attitude gave every bit of racist) A male started my mri I laid there for 25 mins taking pictures for him mid way through AMY walked in unannounced (I couldn’t see well due to the helmet around my head) ( I could hear everything and anyone else attempting to converse w me) Amy never said a word upon moving the MRI machine which is startling after laying there for an extended period of time. She then grabbed my arm without saying a word tie the blue band around my arm at this point I’m putting two and two together and realizing that OK I’m about to have an IV.. Two seconds before I was poked, she said “big poke” she CAUSED BLOOD TO POUR DOWN MY ARM after abruptly sticking me. Nothing was explaine

We were on our way home from a beach vacation and still hours away from home when we realized we left our 10 year old son’s catheter bag at a restaurant hours before. This can be an emergency as our son cannot urinate on his own. Our son was very upset and worried. We stopped at the emergency room and Jessi and 2 other female nurses went out of their way to help us! They were so kind!! Thank you ladies for saving the day!

Horrible wait times. 2 hours post triage and had to get a patient advocate to finally get us a room. I showed her the triage area and how dirty it was coffee cups on equipment, ekg pads all over the floor. Papers with patents info laying on the floor, wrinkled paper that had not been changed. The patient came nurse just shrugged it off and said " we have been busy" An absolute nightmare. There was about 12 people still waiting to get seen when we finally got called back. The NP came in and told us they were running her labs, yet all 6 tubes of blood were still setting in the room with us. Then a nurse came in and said " I told you twice I was taking care of it" we will drive to Nashville before we ever come back here again. We finally left the hospital when we ask why it took so long the N

DISGUSTING!!! MOST DISGUSTING HOSPITAL I'VE SEEN IN MY LIFETIME. Sitting in the ER for about 3 hours now "waiting" for test results trying not to vomit because the room we are in smells like urine and extremely unsanitary. I went to use the restroom.... that was a joke. Piss on the toilet seat and dried blood all over. I cannot believe this hospital is open to public. You're at a greater risk of catching an illness or disease by being in this so called HOSPITAL. Calling the Health Department and whoever else I need to call to report this HORROR! Update- 20 mins later. I asked the staff, 4 different people if they had disinfectant spray to spray in our room, the staff could not find any. I asked if they cleaned the rooms, could not give me a straight answer. One of the nurses brought bathr

If I could give less I would. My father went in Monday with Back Pain. Called our Doctor Monday Morning and they said it would be faster to go the the ER for his Pain. SHOCKER they gave him pain Meds and sent him home. NO X-RAYS NOTHING. Went to our Doctor Tuesday Morning. His back is FRACTURED and they found it through X-RAYS that they took. All the ER had to do was take 5 minutes to do an X-Ray but no lets solve everything will pills.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital

What does West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital do?

West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital is a sleep medicine clinic in Dyersburg, TN that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
