Their Scottsdale office should be avoided. My first appointment was at another location; the nurse I had talked to there did a fine job being concerned about and listening to my needs. Due to my insurance I sadly had to see their Scottsdale office for a following up. My Scottsdale appointment was a horrible waste of time. Instead of going over my medical data and test results, the nurse I had seen only printed out my sleep record. She took (quite literally) two minutes to explain my sleep record to me and asked if I had any questions. The nurse clearly did not care at all and acted as if me being there was a problem. She was not prepared, could not even answer my medical questions (she admitted she was not a pulmonologist; so why was my appointment scheduled with her???), kept mishearing

Overall unprofessional attitude towards appointments and scheduling! My Grandma has been experiencing low levels of oxygen at night, her doctors instructed her that she needed a sleep study to be prescribed the oxygen. In March she scheduled an appointment for May 13, the morning of they called her and told her that they double-booked the oxygen suite. They rescheduled her for May 31, today May 29 they called and canceled, again! Quite funny that they charge you $200 if you cancel before two days of your study, but they can cancel day of with no consequences. Ridiculous and disgusting lack of urgency in actually getting a study that you may have to wait months for. Absolutely no respect for people’s health and time, do better.

I just did my sleep test last night here. I felt comfortable and was treated with empathy and respect. This place and their staff is amazingly professional. I have severe sleep apnea and honestly I can't live without these guys in my life to help me. I was worried about my life expectancy before I came here and now I feel refreshed knowing that there are things I can do to help my situation and tools to help me actually sleep.

DO NOT GO THERE. I had my first sleep study done in late 2020 and my prescription was transferred to them for my machine and supplies, so I have tried to continue to deal with them sense. My prescription CLEARLY states, "the length of need of the above equipment/supplies will be for 99 mo/lifetime use." In 2023, when I needed a new machine, they claimed I needed a new prescription "because insurance requires it" which I don't believe was true, and they set me up with one of their providers, who of course, billed $$$. She wrote a new prescription that also CLEARLY states its for "99 mo/lifetime use." A month after selling me the new machine, they called claiming I had to have a follow-up appointment or "insurance won't pay" for the new machine. I said NO, and my insurance company had

For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Frequently asked questions about Valley Sleep Center - Scottsdale
What does Valley Sleep Center - Scottsdale do?
Valley Sleep Center - Scottsdale is a sleep medicine clinic in Scottsdale, AZ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Valley Sleep Center - Scottsdale?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Valley Sleep Center - Scottsdale directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Valley Sleep Center - Scottsdale?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Valley Sleep Center - Scottsdale?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
