I had a very positive experience with Dr. Marshall at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). She is professional, attentive, and truly takes the time to listen to her patients’ concerns. During my visit, she explained everything clearly and made sure I understood my treatment plan, which made me feel comfortable and well cared for. Dr. Marshall shows genuine compassion and professionalism, and the staff was also kind and efficient. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring Internal Medicine physician.

When I came I ask the girl at front counter about my Appointment she said just have a seat on the front. So I sat there waiting for them to call my name and nothing happened at 11.30 am . I went to the middle of the place ask why is it taking so long. The girl at the counter said I was supposed to sitting in the middle of the building. I wasn't told about this and I waited 40 mins at the front before I ask why is it taking so long.. I was told that I was supposed to sitting in the middle of this place. Why wasn't I told this. Not Happy with the people in the front of the store. Got here at 11am left here at 1pm.

Nice facility. Has a calm clean vibe. Like that their is a lot of seating throughout the facility and your not sitting right next to each other. I appreciated seeing a nurse come out in the waiting area to calm and comfort a patient that was having a hard time. The patient that I was with was seen quickly .

Every UTMB branch has failed me in every single way. Only have I been listened to as a last resort or when I begged and spam messaged and called for attention. Only when things are serious and when I have to be bedridden overdosed on drugs in an emergency room do they listen.

Sheila/Sherri E( I forgot her name; she had cornrow braids), and the other lady workers at the front entrance desk went above and beyond for my aunt who came in for an appointment, but fell ill. We were there at 8:30 am on 5/7/24. We received excellent and prompt service. They offered my aunt a wheelchair and a vomit receptacle. I wish I could remember all their names, but all those ladies at the front desk took great care of us. I'll never forget service like that. Highly recommend.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about UTMB Health Primary & Specialty Care Center Victory Lakes
What does UTMB Health Primary & Specialty Care Center Victory Lakes do?
UTMB Health Primary & Specialty Care Center Victory Lakes is a sleep medicine clinic in League City, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at UTMB Health Primary & Specialty Care Center Victory Lakes?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact UTMB Health Primary & Specialty Care Center Victory Lakes directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at UTMB Health Primary & Specialty Care Center Victory Lakes?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at UTMB Health Primary & Specialty Care Center Victory Lakes?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
