Don’t usually write reviews but been trying to get a bill resolved been trying to get a hold of your billing department for 3 weeks with 0 response. When I got a hold of someone at the desk on Friday July 31st she claimed this bill had nothing to do with her and told me to call the medicine supply company themselves. When I called that supply company to resolve the bill they told me to call back the same person the directed me to them. Finally got a hold of someone the other day to resolve the issue and they claimed to be short of staff and they were in the process of training new people. Lady ITS BEEN 3 weeks that’s plenty of time to train someone how to answer or return a phone call. What a joke of a billing department you guys have considering going somewhere else no because of thi

If you need to do a sleep study, this is the place to do it. Very easy process to go through. The staff is very kind and helpful. The room is quite and if you need anything all you have to do is ask. The only downside is the gooh that they have to use with the leads, however they do have a shower in the bathroom so that you can wash it all out.

🚨Warning: Do Not Use These People 🚨 I had an overnight sleep study scheduled for Monday 7/27/2026. I arrived shortly before 8 pm for my 8:15 pm appointment to do the overnight sleep study. The young man was so nice, he walked me back to my room, and said to get ready, and they would come back in 10-15 minutes. I took a quick shower, then got dressed and ready for bed like I was told to do. When he came back in to put all of the suction cups and wires on me, a female voice came over the intercom, and asked him if he did something to the box. He told her no, and then politely told me he would be right back. Fast forward to 10 minutes later. He told me that because of the storms, that there was some sort of malfunction with the equipment, and they would be unable to do the sleep stu

I’ve had multiple sleep studies here, and while the testing process was thorough, I did not receive many practical solutions for my sleep issues. “T” was an excellent technician, and the staff overall behaved professionally. That said, if you do not have sleep apnea, the treatment options are limited. Most of the recommendations involved sleep logs and basic sleep hygiene advice that is readily available online. I was also surprised that they do not prescribe sleep medication, even for occasional use, which seems somewhat unusual given that the facility is called The Center for Sleep Medicine. Overall, the staff had a professional demeanor, but patients with sleep issues other than sleep apnea will likely find the treatment options limited.

The staff were great but the beds and bedding awful. Also, there's no thermostat in each room so you're stuck at whatever temp the facility is. I was too hot and stuffy and took a long time to fall asleep. Again, staff were great though.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about The Center for Sleep Medicine

What does The Center for Sleep Medicine do?

The Center for Sleep Medicine is a sleep medicine clinic in Libertyville, IL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at The Center for Sleep Medicine?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact The Center for Sleep Medicine directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at The Center for Sleep Medicine?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at The Center for Sleep Medicine?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
