I was having trouble with my Cpap turning off in the middle of the night. I call John at THM and he gave me valuable advice to mend the issue . He said: First wash your face with soap and water before going to bed , leave a little water on your face . Then take a baby wipe and clean the mask seal area throughly , leaving it too a little moist. When you put you mask on with your face and mask , a little damp , the mask will seal twice a good as if you just slipped it on without this preparation. Great tip . Hope it will help someone else… Texas Home Medical’s staff is alway helpful when you are in need of resolving a problem Thank you . Randall Bullard.

John and the rest of the staff at the Conroe office always take their time to fully educate you on the use of their machines and supplies. They worked with me to purchase a new one at a reasonable price when it was too early for insurance to pay. After getting the machine, John called me a month later to see if I was having any issues. I’m very impressed with this office and highly recommend it to anyone needing a CPAP machine.

Yesterday my wife picked up her first CPAP and John treated us like family and took the time to show my wife how to use the CPAP. My wife was very happy with the training John provided. I would highly recommend John. Texas Home Medical has also provided my CPAP supplies for the past 8 years. Adirana, my supply representative, is great. Texas Home Medical, Conroe TX has been my equipment provider for many years. I have been extremely pleased with their service and their representative Adriana who calls me every 3 months when it is time for a mask and tubing replacement. John is the representative who reviewed the new machine with me. I was very impressed with his knowledge of the machines. He explained the differences and made sure I understood how to use the new machine and new mask. John called me today to ask if I had any concerns or questions about the Airsense 10. I told him how pleased I was with the new 10 and was receiving 100% scores nightly. I am impressed that John took the time to follow up with me. He truly cares about his clients. I highly recommend Texas Home Medical and John for CPAP needs.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Texas Home Medical

What does Texas Home Medical do?

Texas Home Medical is a sleep medicine clinic in Conroe, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Texas Home Medical?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Texas Home Medical directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Texas Home Medical?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Texas Home Medical?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
