The office staff is unreliable and not very helpful or friendly. The office manager comes across as miserable with the goal to make you miserable too. We finally switched out from here because we just got tired of their rudeness and being unreliable which creates issues with not receiving our supplies from Apria. I would not recommend them.

My boyfriend has been here quite a few times. The doctor he saw last was very rude and disrespectful, but legally what this doctor is doing is called "medical negligence". Even though my boyfriend has repeatedly told them that the machine is not working and that it makes him dizzy, the doctor refuses to switch him to a bipap machine instead. He could also be prescribed Zepbound, which was recently FDA approved for my boyfriend's condition, but he refused to even try to prescribe anything for him at all. My boyfriend asked for a referral to UCSF, which his insurance said is the next option they are contracted with, but his staff said "We don't give referrals for NOBODY." Then when we met with this doctor again asking for a referral to UCSF, he said they don't do that because referrals are "

“Show up at 8 for the study” “Sorry guys I don’t who told you that we open the doors for the studies at 8:45” Now I’m sat here at 8, waiting 45 minutes for absolutely nothing.

The staff are great! I've done 2 sleep studies and the staff have been very friendly and accommodating. Beds can be uncomfortable depending on which room they give you. I also recommend ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

Attending staff for sleep overs were very nice, accommodating & UNDERSTANDING, HOWEVER the appointment desk staff could try smiling some. Female Dr who saw me to tell me my results was VERY KIND. One of the main Male Dr that did my intake to see if I qualified had poor chair side manner. Only looked at his laptop, seemed very curt & hurried, no smile made me feel uncomfortable. The staff in the back is what makes this place nice. He's lucky he has them . One VERY IMPORTANT THING: Beds mattresses are very used up which caused back pain and hard to get comfortable. I had to keep myself from rolling off on 2nd sleep study night!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Stanislaus Sleep Disorders Center Inc

What does Stanislaus Sleep Disorders Center Inc do?

Stanislaus Sleep Disorders Center Inc is a sleep medicine clinic in Modesto, CA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Stanislaus Sleep Disorders Center Inc?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Stanislaus Sleep Disorders Center Inc directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Stanislaus Sleep Disorders Center Inc?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Stanislaus Sleep Disorders Center Inc?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
