I had a sleep study with Bay Sleep Clinic back in May and my experience was great. The admin team and their Sleep Tech are top-tier. They were super helpful and made the whole Process easy and straightforward. The Facility was really clean. I was in a very spacious room with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I also like the fact that I had a few choices to choose from of where to go grab breakfast before heading home. Overall, my experience with Bay Sleep Clinic was amazing and will definitely recommend to friends and family who may be needing a sleep study in the near future.

I second the dishonest billing. I was referred here by Kaiser with the promise I would only pay my Kaiser co-pay and deductible. Instead I was told I had to sign their payment agreement which was inconsistent with the agreement I/they have with Kaiser. I refused to sign and left the facility but they had already taken and charged my credit card a $75 copay. As I was leaving the facility, the "owner" who was on the phone with the representative at the facility said the charge would be cancelled. It wasn't. I called the phone number listed on the charge with my credit card. No response. I have opened a dispute with my credit card bank. Ultimately, no services were provided and I did NOT agree to your payment requirements as I did not sign them. You have no right to charge me anythi

I know this review goes against other opinions, but this is an honest perspective from my standpoint. I am a Veteran being separated from the military and this clinic was assigned to me to conduct a sleep study. I received information on what preparations needed to happen prior to the study as well as a date secured weeks in advanced. Given my situation, I called the clinic directly, bypassing the Veterans Administration, to see if I could potentially find an open slot sooner. They told me there was none available, but they would let me know if one opened up. Having been told this before with other medical facilities, I doubted there would be any follow up. To my surprise, Amanda called me two weeks before my scheduled appointment to ask if I was available that night because of a cancellat

Not happy w their business ethics. Every time a new mask & tubing arrived...$800.00 or MORE!! I would then submit to insurance and would still end up owing them $300.00 or more. I finally figured out I could purchase those items on Amazon for about $100.00 Their CPAP equipment is INFERIOR as the water tank would crack often. They finally told me they could no longer sell me replacement tanks unless I AGREED to buy their hoses & tubes again (at the sky high rates). No thanks guys....Adios... then I went on line to investigate and saw that yrs earlier they were under investigation by the Santa Clara District Attorney...Like I said...no thanks!😘

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Bay Sleep Clinic

What does Bay Sleep Clinic do?

Bay Sleep Clinic is a sleep medicine clinic in Mountain View, CA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Bay Sleep Clinic?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Bay Sleep Clinic directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Bay Sleep Clinic?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Bay Sleep Clinic?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
