I’ve never been to a neater and caring hospital than this. So well organized. My son had open heart surgery about 3 weeks ago and he was doing so well that we went home 4 days after. The care provided by the nurses was top notch. Sarah, Julie and the others really made the process as smooth and simple as possible. Checking up on me and my son every minute. Sanitation is 10/10. Every single process was awesome. And the support.. my goodness. They handled me with so much love and care. I was hysterical seeing my son taken away but they did a phenomenal job. The family bathroom in the ICU was clean, the food good and everything was well organized. We are back home in the Caribbean well and ready for a beautiful future. Thank you!! PROCEDURAL SEDATION DEPARTMENT – We took our daughter to have a blood draw with light sedation, and the team was absolutely fantastic. Stef was our incredible nurse, and she took great care of us. She kept us informed, gained rapport and trust with my daughter to make her feel at ease, and walked us through every step of the process with professional courtesy and an excellent bedside manner. We are grateful!

Everyone we encountered rather it was employees or the general public was very polite. The Security Officers were especially very professional, thorough, and polite. Excellent professionalism displayed by the Security and Medical Staff. The Nurses took great care of our daughter while running tests on her, and the Cardiologist was extremely kind and compassionate. Thank you Cardinal Glennon for treating our STL children like your own.

We didn’t necessarily have a bad experience, so this is merely a suggestion for anyone who is checking in for an appointment in orthopedics, and you have small children who will want to walk down the hall to visit the play area with the buses. When checking in, we were told we did not need name badges since we were just going to ortho right there by the welcome desk. We didn’t think anything of it, but when our son’s appointment was over he wanted to walk down to “drive the bus” (we have been here many times and he loves this little area) and we were told we could not go that way unless we checked in again and got name badges. We even had our discharge papers from the appointment. I understand these are the rules and for safety reasons, and it’s good to know that the security guards at the

I was in this hospital at 10 years old for an abscess on my brain. I underwent brain surgery on July 2 1982. They treated me great. Without their care, I wouldn’t be alive today. I remember one nurse in particular named Lynn. She was always really nice. Brother Pat was very kind also. I know this is really long overdue and I should have done it a long time ago and I’m sure most, if not all of the people working there in 1982 are long since retired, but they deserve credit for how well they treated all of the kids I was around. Just got to thinking about it and thought I would post it. Thanks again for everything.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital Sleep and Research Center
What does SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital Sleep and Research Center do?
SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital Sleep and Research Center is a sleep medicine clinic in St. Louis, MO that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital Sleep and Research Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital Sleep and Research Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital Sleep and Research Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital Sleep and Research Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
