The team at sleep services of Maryland are helping me try to get my life back on track by allowing me to sleep more than an hour and a half a night. Which is what I’ve been living on for a very long time. while the Bible tells us that those who wait upon the Lord shall mount up with wings like eagles. We shall run and not get tired, I think it’s important that we all get adequate sleep as well. I’ve had a sleep study to determine my apnea issue. I’ve had another sleep study to determine whether a nasal CPAP device would help. Which it did. I slept for almost 7 hours during the study! A complete nights sleep! Today Edgar and the rest of the team helped me to get set up with my CPAP machine. They also sold me a battery so that I could use it in the car when I’m out on the road as Santa Cl

Wonderful staff, caring and considerate. Great facility, comfortable and clean. If you have to do a sleep study in the northern part of Montgomery County I recommend this facility and staff.

Great experience so far. Got there early for my appointment, was taken back almost right away. The PA and I discussed my issues, and my options for different sleep studies. I scheduled the appointment for a few weeks out. The whole thing took maybe 15 minutes from the time I walked in to the time I left

My young adult family member was diagnosed with narcolepsy by Dr. Mehndiratta and started on a wake-promoting medication. He had an adverse reaction and called the office. No one called back. We waited two weeks before we could be seen. When we finally sat down with Dr. Mehndiratta, his explanation for the silence was that he had been on vacation. That answer was offered without apology and without any acknowledgment that a young patient on a newly prescribed controlled medication had been left with no covering provider and no way to reach anyone. Whether or not a physician is on vacation, a practice needs coverage. That is the entire point of coverage. We have since moved to another neurologist who reordered the diagnostic workup from the beginning, including the confirmatory bloodwork

Let me start by saying sleep apnea is a serious condition and definitely need to be treated IF it's present. I got taken advantage of. The doctor diagnosed me with sleep apnea and started me on a CPAP machine. My sleep did not improve and overall I felt like the explanation and support was more than lacking. I had so much trouble through this entire process I finally got a second opinion after 7 months and the doctor was so thorough. She reviewed 2 home sleep tests, one clinic sleep test, and my CPAP report and said I do not have sleep apnea. What a waste of time and money. I'm so thankful I got a second opinion. I take my health seriously and wouldn't want to put myself at risk but having a doctor take advantage of that is unacceptable. Good luck everyone and take care of your health!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sleep Services of Maryland LLC
What does Sleep Services of Maryland LLC do?
Sleep Services of Maryland LLC is a sleep medicine clinic in Rockville, MD that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sleep Services of Maryland LLC?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sleep Services of Maryland LLC directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Sleep Services of Maryland LLC?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Sleep Services of Maryland LLC?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
