Coming to Sabino was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I met lifelong friends from across the country, reconciled with parents during Family Week, and continually pushed myself out of my comfort zone with opportunities like horseback rides and cold plunges. 10/10, would highly recommend to anyone on the fence! Complex Trauma rears its ugly head without warning, oftentimes a slow boil over years. Choosing Sabino Recovery was the best decision I made to finally and thoroughly address the past so it can stop determining my future. The team of professional therapists, psychiatry, neurofeedback, naturopathy, sleep, somatic, and nursing all worked together to address the different areas needing treatment. It’s not one thing, it’s not one pill, it’s not one secret weapon. What Sabino has put together to treat C-PTSD is outstanding and has put me on the path to create a new life. Stop looking and call them.

This place is horrific. We were so, so hopeful that they would be able to provide proper care to our family member who had suffered tremendously with addiction and trauma. We read about their alternative methods and their commitment to staying in touch with previous patients. Our family member left this facility with a prescription for the stimulant that she was abusing BEFORE treatment. She relapsed within days of leaving and is now hospitalized. The intake was done by someone without a clinical background (Pierre I think? French name) and he seemed incredibly enthusiastic about enrolling our family member without fully evaluating her condition. She had interviewed with another facility that recommended a higher level of care - not Sabino! They wanted the $$! We’re heartbroken. Corruption

I recently had the absolute pleasure of spending two days at Sabino Recovery in Tucson, and I can honestly say it was an exquisite experience from start to finish. The setting is peaceful and spiritual, creating a truly healing environment for clients and staff alike. What stood out most was the caliber of their team—every person I met was deeply committed, highly skilled, and genuinely compassionate. It was an honor to offer a training on experiential therapy and family work, and I was so impressed by their openness, engagement, and dedication to clinical excellence. Sabino Recovery is clearly doing meaningful, integrity-driven work in the field of recovery. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking high-quality, exceptional care.

When I arrived at Sabino, I was in a tough place and felt completely lost, but they helped me find my way again. What sets Sabino apart is their dedication to your long-term success. Before you leave, they ensure you’re fully equipped with the resources you need to continue your journey, including access to a supportive network of Sabino alumni. I’ve been to Sabino Recovery (SR) twice now. My first time Jan-Feb was a like altering experience focused on the childhood trauma I had never acknowledged or was aware of. Knowing all of that helped me understand some of my activities such as collecting large amounts of “stuff”, whether things or when food shopping. I returned to SR to further understand and change behaviors as a second act. The therapists are top notch, and both times my trauma therapist, Pat Thurman, was fantastic and was really the cherry on top of the sundae. The maximum capacity of residents is nice and small, 30, meaning you get to know all of the staff and fellow residents, and they us, which makes for a very comfortable time spent there. Nick and Chef Rob kept us well fed with delicious meals 3 times a day. Ye

What an incredible place!!! I was living with trauma for 50 years which got to the point of my anxiety and depression taking over my life. It was the most difficult decision of my life but the most important. I left in in July 2024 after 35 days and my life is so different now, all for the better. The staff is so caring and loving from the Therapists to the BHT's (Behavioral Health Technicians), the Nursing staff, etc. On my first full day it seemed like everyone on the staff knew my name and welcomed me with open arms. Individual Therapy, Process Groups, Group Therapy and a plethora of other sessions keep you busy but there is still free time to relax and socialize or do whatever you want. And the Saturday trips for coffee at Le Buzz and Sunday field trips allow you to clear your m

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about SABINO RECOVERY

What does SABINO RECOVERY do?

SABINO RECOVERY is a sleep medicine clinic in Tucson, AZ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at SABINO RECOVERY?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact SABINO RECOVERY directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at SABINO RECOVERY?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at SABINO RECOVERY?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
