Dr. Pearson is a wonderful neurologist. He is kind, caring, extremely intelligent, and very personable. I've never been to a neurologist before but I can't imagine they're all like Dr. Pearson. What a wonderful experience. I highly recommend him! He is exceptional.

We knew this was the place for us immediately! From Tracy at the front desk, to the doc, and then his wife, Sarah, we felt we were in perfect care. This office is the friendliest, family-like office I think we have ever been to. Dr. Pearson is down to earth and simultaneously brilliant in his approach to patient care. To say he is thorough and that he cares is an understatement! He takes the time necessary to treat his patients fully and to understand their needs and issues with such kindness. He is so humble and and so patient and takes the time to explain everything. He even made a phone call himself to be sure an off-site imaging place was responding to a request for an appointment. We HIGHLY recommend!!

Dr. Pearson helped me manage my debilitating headaches and identify several issues that were contributing to my symptoms. Following his advice and taking the recommended medication, I have gone from living in constant pain to almost eliminating my daily headaches. When a headache does occur I’m able to manage it without being bedridden for days. Thank you Dr. Pearson.

I knew as soon as I met Dr. Pearson that he was a different kind of doctor. Most doctors (not all, but most) appear to be too busy getting through their patient schedule to take any real time with me. I've often felt as if I am wasting their time and I'm just another invoice to submit to billing. Dr. Pearson has a very relaxed and down-to-earth demeanor and made me feel at ease immediately. He is intuitive and asked me just the right questions to narrow down to my specific issues; within the first visit we had a plan for how to proceed and I felt hopeful about the future. He explained treatment in detail and with examples I could understand and I felt like I had made a friend by the time I left the office. He employs the NeuroStar TMS therapy and Sarah Pearson explained in detail how

For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Frequently asked questions about Penn-Tampa Neurology & Sleep Medicine - Dr. Thomas Pearson
What does Penn-Tampa Neurology & Sleep Medicine - Dr. Thomas Pearson do?
Penn-Tampa Neurology & Sleep Medicine - Dr. Thomas Pearson is a sleep medicine clinic in Palm Harbor, FL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Penn-Tampa Neurology & Sleep Medicine - Dr. Thomas Pearson?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Penn-Tampa Neurology & Sleep Medicine - Dr. Thomas Pearson directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Penn-Tampa Neurology & Sleep Medicine - Dr. Thomas Pearson?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Penn-Tampa Neurology & Sleep Medicine - Dr. Thomas Pearson?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
