The labor and delivery department (2nd floor) team is perhaps the most wonderful group of healthcare professionals my husband and I have ever been around. The entire staff Savannah, Melanie, Jennifer, sherry, Nikki(I know I’m missing people, sorry!) were strong advocates for my health and really sought out to make sure that I was given the proper treatment necessary for a smooth recovery. Even Richard the gentlemen who brought up our meals to us was monumental in helping us keep our wits about us while adjusting to having our new beautiful baby. Thank you so much for the expert care!

On Tuesday 6/9/2026, I arrived at PMC for a cardiac MRI. I had minimal wait time. Steve took me to start my IV. He asked me about my veins. I showed him several places where IVs were started before. He listened to my description of how IVs were started previously. He used my information to start the IV painlessly with one stick. He did excellent work. Randy fully explained the process of the cardiac MRI. The complete process went as described. Randy and Steve were both friendly, courteous, and professional. It was overall an enjoyable experience. Kudos to Steve and Randy.

I was a patient on July 10th - July 11th. During that time I had excellent care. The 3 Dogwood care team were all amazing. I would especially like to mention and thank my RNs Peighton, Jennifer and Jaime. My PCAs Ethan, Melinda, Cameron and Cat. They were extremely AMAZING and were stars that shined bright! Yes, I know I’m missing an RN and that was intentional, I can’t remember her name and she was not a shining star like the others. Sam’s it’s ok, some days people have off days or really busy days. It’s ok if you call me, I’d like to explain. But one dull star doesn’t disqualify all the others who really went out of their way to give me the best care during my stay. I’d also like to thank Melissa who was behind the scenes, as I never got a chance to meet her but she made sure I h

We didn't bring my uncle to the hospital because of just one or two symptoms. We brought him because he has been experiencing a long list of serious and worsening issues that have completely changed his condition. Before arriving, we took the time to write down everything that had been happening so the medical staff would have the full picture. The EMT who transported him took our notes, but they were never given to his nurse or anyone involved in his care. When the doctor came in, he casually told us my uncle had three broken ribs as if it wasn't a big deal and said he was fine to go home. We were stunned. Three broken ribs should have been concerning enough, but they weren't even the main reason we were there. We explained that he has been having constant falls, episodes where he goes

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Parkwest Medical Center
What does Parkwest Medical Center do?
Parkwest Medical Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Knoxville, TN that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Parkwest Medical Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Parkwest Medical Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Parkwest Medical Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Parkwest Medical Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
