This is a group of top shelf physicians in the fields of Ear, Eye, Nose, and Throat. There’s also an audiology department, with an audiologist on site. I’ve been coming here for almost 15 years, and I’ve seen a doctor in each specialty. The docs are AWESOME! The optometry shop is nice, and they have ALL price ranges!

I have been coming here going on a year and I have had an wonderful & excellent experience with Dr . Hodges she is wonderful She is attentive, knowledgeable, and took the time to listen to my concerns without rushing and helping find the solution to my issue. I felt genuinely cared for and confident in the treatment plan, which is making a difference so far. Unfortunately, the experience I just had with the lady on the phone from the 2nd floor front desk was not as positive. I could not remember the name of the nice friendly guy that usually helps me at the front desk She then had an attitude and came across as dismissive and unwelcoming which was disappointing and set a negative vibe totally different than the service I usually receive. That said, the quality of care I received from Dr.

I was a little concerned when I first read the reviews online and I was called to book an appointment but my experience was quite pleasant. My eye exam was done thoroughly by the assistant and Dr. Dollen. I didn't have to wait too long and everything went smoothly, everyone was kind and sweet. I would say, when I was called in mid-Oct, the earliest appointment was in Nov-end in Durham location. The Cary location was more convenient for me but there weren't appointments available that could fit my schedule so that was a problem but overall, the in person experience was quite good.

Had lasik surgery with Dr Perry about 20 years ago. Since my eyes were very nearsighted at -6.75, I needed a second "touch up" procedure to get me to vision glasses free vision. It's been so great not having to wear coke bottle glasses and being able to swim and see at the same time. I recall getting good care from their team. My eyes are still in good health. At 60, I do need reading glasses and computer glasses. But I'm glad I did it and enjoyed mostly glasses free life for many years. If you are thinking of lasik, get it as a young adult, so you have time to enjoy it before the reading glasses age hits!

Frequently asked questions about North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat - North Durham
What does North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat - North Durham do?
North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat - North Durham is a sleep medicine clinic in Durham, NC that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat - North Durham?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat - North Durham directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat - North Durham?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat - North Durham?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
