This place is amazing! ALL of the staff starting at the Front desk were so awesome! I Cataract surgery on my first eye on March 25th and my 2nd eye today, April 8th. I'm honestly going to miss going back to see all the people there! Made you feel so comfortable and safe. They were all happy and laughing and truly seemed to love their patients and co-workers. I can't recommend this place enough. God Bless them all, and also Dr. Bordelon who is fabulous! Love you all!

My family recently had an outpatient procedure, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the PACU team. What started as a routine recovery quickly turned into an unexpected medical event just before discharge. Without hesitation, Kailee rushed in to help, even though she wasn’t assigned to our care. She immediately assessed the situation and provided exceptional care while Doris and Sarah quickly joined her. Their teamwork, professionalism, and calm demeanor were incredible to witness. Throughout the entire experience, these nurses kept us informed, reassured us, and made what could have been a terrifying situation feel manageable. Their compassion and genuine concern for both the patient and family were evident in every interaction. Kailee, Doris, and Sarah exemplify what nursing

Can't say enough about how wonderful the staff were. Dr. Bordelon is just wonderful and so caring. Her staff is great, friendly and so very kind and competent. They made me feel comfortable and calmed my jittery nerves. Everyone was right: Once you go through the first cataract surgery, you won't worry about the second one. My next trip is in June. Feeling so appreciative and grateful for their fine care.

I recently had to visit the surgical center to have uterine fibroids removed. Upon arrival on the day of my procedure my husband and I were met with welcoming staff. Nancy at the front desk was very helpful and chatted with us for a few minutes to help ease us into things that morning. Any time you have to have surgery, it can be stressful and make anyone feel anxious. We waited, probably no longer than 30 minutes because all of the doctors were on time with their patients. Once we were brought back for pre-op, everyone was fantastic. Each staff member who helped get me ready were very kind, straightforward, and patient if we had questions. My whole experience as the patient was awesome. I was made to feel comfortable and was not rushed out once I was in post opp because I needed a minute

Absolutely the most amazing health care facility. From the check in to the discharge this facility has THE BEST healthcare, staff and protocols EVER! Very comfortable and courteous patient care. I cannot say enough about the wonderful experience during my visit for cataract surgery. Dr. Perry did a masterful procedure, he was done before I took a full breath. I was seeing so much better out of my eye he just operated on than ever in a long time. Anxious to get the left eye done now. THE BEST

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center

What does Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center do?

Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Durham, NC that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Davis Ambulatory Surgical Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
