If you need a sleep study for a DOT physical do not go here!! This was my first sleep study, and I went in trusting my PCP’s referral. My coworkers told me what to expect: it would be uncomfortable, expensive, and hard to sleep—but usually a one-time process. That was not my experience here. From the beginning, I felt pressured. As soon as they received my referral, they rushed to schedule me ASAP and even “negotiated” the price like a car salesman. At the time, I thought I was getting a deal. Before the study even started, the tech told me, “If I tell you that you’ll probably need to come back, that means you have sleep apnea.” That already made it feel like the outcome was decided. After the study, I was told it would take 9–10 days for my results and that my PCP would contact me. Le

From the referral process to post sleep study PSG, CPAP and MLST, I CAN NOT say enough about this facility! Being in the medical field we hear " would you send your family" inquiring about a Physician, Clinic Group or Hospital. This facility ESPECIALLY ALL OF THE STAFF is RECOMMENDED HIGLY. I would trust them with my family whole heartedly. Thank you for making this journey for me peaceful and with no CHAOS.

I recently had a sleep study at Huebner Sleep Center with the understanding that I would receive a new sleep apnea machine different from my current one. I confirmed this arrangement twice with Kelsey (the manager), who assured me it would happen. However, after completing my study, the sleep technician attempted to send me home with the exact same machine model I already own. The technician was completely unaware of the arrangement I had made with management, showing a serious lack of communication within their team. As a result, I left without any new equipment and now must make an additional trip across town to obtain the promised machine. This wastes my time, gas, and creates an unnecessary inconvenience that could have been avoided if proper communication had occurred. What concerns

I had a great experience here at Huebner Sleep Center! The managing staff and sleep technician work very well together and have a very efficient system that took a lot of work and stress out of my hands. During my stay overnight, the bed was comfortable and the atmosphere was vey nice. They had an entire room and bed for me to sleep on along with a nice fan to have cool room and noise ambiance. The sleep technician is very experienced with over 20 years of knowledge! I can now sleep soundly at night with new equipment and no problems.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Huebner Sleep Center
What does Huebner Sleep Center do?
Huebner Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in San Antonio, TX that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Huebner Sleep Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Huebner Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Huebner Sleep Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Huebner Sleep Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
