I was with my husband for his appointment. The nurse who checked him in was really nice asked about his medications etc. Then we saw Sarah. She fixed his medication record by taking ones off he no longer uses. She asked alot of questions about his CPAP machine and told us the insurance should pay for a new one since the one he has isn't always working right. So she contacted our supplier with a prescription for a new one and supplies.

At my appointment with Dr Wright, he was very thorough as he went through the analysis of my c-pap results. Using a visual presentation (computer screen), while discussing my results, enabled me to have a better understanding of my c-pap settings and how they support my breathing. The results being a better night's sleep. I never felt rushed by Dr Wright. I left the appointment, with a better understanding of my sleep disorder and it's treatment.

Do not go to this clinic. Pick somewhere else. I had a sleep study done, got basically told that cpap is my only option despite my reservations I agreed to it. I’m now having issues with the treatment. I called twice to speak to a nurse to have the doctor call me. No call for 4 days and then a scheduler calls me to schedule another appointment over a month out. If I can’t speak to someone while my treatment is ongoing and they just want another office visit so I can billed $500 that’s not treatment. Go to another location where they might actually listen to you to try to help.

Dr. Wright is always amazing. He is prompt and never makes any appointment feel rushed. I always get my questions answered or he gets me an answer. He has so much knowledge because of his years in this profession, but he never makes you feel like he is more of an expert than you are with your body and condition. On top of this he is patient, nurturing, kind, and flexible. I feel grateful to be under his care.

Frequently asked questions about Allina Health Sleep Center- Coon Rapids
What does Allina Health Sleep Center- Coon Rapids do?
Allina Health Sleep Center- Coon Rapids is a sleep medicine clinic in Coon Rapids, MN that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Allina Health Sleep Center- Coon Rapids?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Allina Health Sleep Center- Coon Rapids directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Allina Health Sleep Center- Coon Rapids?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Allina Health Sleep Center- Coon Rapids?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
