I was able to get into the sleep study pretty quickly with Allina. I did my sleep study this past week. Though I was nervous about the entire process, Kyle walked me through the entire procedure and I was way more relaxed and comfortable. The rooms were clean and the staff were nice and friendly.

The nurses and scheduling staff insisted we would not have a bill. To take home a monitor, apply it ourselves for one night, and then have to return it extremely early the next day after not sleeping all night, we are charged $754 dollars. Nice one Allina, you’ve lost us as patients forever, you aren’t scamming us out of money ever again

I had a very disappointing experience at Allina Sleep Center Bandana Square, Minnesota. All the negative reviews left by previous visitors are completely true and valid, and I am skeptical about the authenticity of the positive reviews. The billing department is especially problematic—they are rude, don't listen, and frequently talk over you. The cramped and unprofessional work area does not help the situation. The only positive aspect is the two staff members who work there; they are genuinely kind and seem to care about the patients. I hope Allina Health reevaluates their association with this center, as the current state of affairs is unacceptable.

I just had a second very frustrating experience with the Allina Sleep Center. It was hard enough getting my sleep study scheduled. I showed up to pick up my kit for the night for the at-home and the person who needed to give that to me was out sick (which I understand - it happens) but I didn't get enough advance notice to avoid the unnecessary trip. Then they couldn't even reschedule me at that time and it literally took weeks (and a call to my GP) to get the study rescheduled. Now, months later and after my diagnosis, I show up for my CPAP fitting and I don't fit the requirements for having one in my home. So frustrating to not have all the information, to go downtown, pay for parking and then met with no suggestions on alternatives. I'm going to find a center elsewhere but I've been on

FRAUD BILLING NOTICE! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! LOOK AROUND AND FIND ANOTHER PROVIDER!!! I opened a claim with the MN Attorney General on fraudulent billing practices as I was charged an initial $449 just for waling in and talking to a Certified Nurse Practitioner for about 20 minutes. I was then charged an additional $850 for an "at home sleep study." Finally after not hearing back from the Sleep Center, I called and set up a follow up appointment. This time I was charged $293 for another 20 minute conversation with the Certified Nurse Practitioner to tell me that I don't have sleep apnea. There is truly something wrong with the medical industry when they can charge around $35 a minute to talk with a Certified Nurse Practitioner and feel they are justified in doing so. As a quick follow u

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Allina Health Sleep Center – Fort Road Medical Building

What does Allina Health Sleep Center – Fort Road Medical Building do?

Allina Health Sleep Center – Fort Road Medical Building is a sleep medicine clinic in Saint Paul, MN that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Allina Health Sleep Center – Fort Road Medical Building?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Allina Health Sleep Center – Fort Road Medical Building directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Allina Health Sleep Center – Fort Road Medical Building?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Allina Health Sleep Center – Fort Road Medical Building?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
