I’m trying to understand some of these bad reviews because I had an absolutely phenomenal experience. The tech, Omyra, was nothing shy of amazing. I’ve had 5-6 of these done in the past at various other centers and this was by far my best experience. The place was very clean, the bed was comfortable, Omyra had me hooked up to everything pretty quickly while also explaining things is extreme detail. I would recommend this place above all of the labs I’ve been to. It was quiet (I brought ear plugs just in case) but I heard nothing. I’m seeing all of these reviews about people being unable to reach the lab but that wasn’t my experience… every time I called, someone answered straight away, no robots or anything, an actual human.

I was initially quite hesitant due to the reviews that had been posted, but my experience turned out to be different. The technician, Richard, was very kind and made me feel at ease. I found it difficult to sleep soundly as I was in an unfamiliar environment, but I hope that I provided sufficient data for them to obtain the necessary results. The facility was clean and quiet, with no discernible noise whatsoever. I would certainly recommend it.

Gave an incorrect price estimate for overnight sleep study. Overcharged by 500$ with no refund. Loud during the night, partially couldn’t sleep because of the wires which is no one’s fault but also kept being woken up by talking, doors slamming, and items being dropped. Terrible, costly, useless experience. Not much empathy from staff. Also, as someone else mentioned, it took them months to call me to book the appointment after being referred by my doctor.

I had been hesitant about an overnight study after reading a few reviews of the local sleep facilities being dirty. Happily, this was not the case at this sleep center. The bed, room, and bathroom were all clean. My tech, Stephen, was friendly, professional, and very accommodating. I felt so comfortable that I might have slept too well.

Absolutely recommend this Sleep Center! Dr. Wittine is very knowledgeable and takes her time discussing your care to really investigate your issues and find the right solution. Scheduling with this center was seen less and very professional. The staff were all very pleasant and my tech for the study was Amazing!! The room was comfortable and the environment was very quiet. I am very satisfied with my experience here!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about AdventHealth Tampa Sleep Center
What does AdventHealth Tampa Sleep Center do?
AdventHealth Tampa Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Tampa, FL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at AdventHealth Tampa Sleep Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact AdventHealth Tampa Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at AdventHealth Tampa Sleep Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at AdventHealth Tampa Sleep Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
