Finding a solid primary care doctor isn’t easy these days — the healthcare system makes it feel like you’re just another number. But recently I started seeing Dr. Paul Farah, and for the first time at 44 years old, I can honestly say I have a PCP who actually listens. He doesn’t rush through appointments. He takes his time, asks real questions, and makes sure you feel heard. That kind of care makes you want to take better care of yourself, because he follows through with actions that show he genuinely cares — something far too many doctors fail to do.If you’re tired of feeling dismissed or overlooked and you’re looking for a primary care doctor who treats you like a human being, not a chart number, please consider Dr. Farah. #lifechanging

My aging brain. Orthopedic Sports Medicine moved down Detroit six minutes away. It is no longer on the second floor. It is on the second floor just down the street. Each location does have "Quest" labs so..... My wife laughed and laughed when I told her I went to the wrong location. Made the appointment on time. Like an orthopedic surgeon ever sees yiu at the "scheduled" time, right? Thank you UH for taking care of me (symbiotic relationship we have?) Later peeps!

I often go to this location to see my orthopedic doctor. My doctor is wonderful. The building on the other hand is not. Every time I have been to this location there are issues with the elevators. Once while in one it lost power! Stairs are not an option for me due to mobility issues.

After a few days of delays, UH came through. Amazing experience with Orthopedic visit suite 3110 My teen broke his arm and they were all so kind. We arrived very early 930 for a 1030 apt. and expected to wait, but they called us back only after a few minutes. The provider was so kind and understanding as was the the person who did the cast, the person who took us into the exam room and the people at front desk. After stressing about what was going to happen, and trying to get things resolved since Saturday evening I felt so greatful for this team. We were back in the car and headed home less than an hour later! Thank you so much!

Clean and well maintained, parking situation is quite crazy, I had to drive around a while looking for a spot. Always a pleasant experience at my doctor's office.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Westlake Health Center

What does Westlake Health Center do?

Westlake Health Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Westlake, OH that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Westlake Health Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Westlake Health Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Westlake Health Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Westlake Health Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
