The night time ER doctor was awful! I went in for severe abdominal pain and the doctor asked me one question and then left the room. He didn't do a physical exam on me, didn't listen to my chest, nothing! He ordered an XRay, CT scan, blood work, and urine test. He said they all came back negative and sent me home. The pain kept getting worse, so I went to a free clinic. The urine test they did was positive for an infection. It had only been one full day since I went to the ER too. It was the worst hospital I've ever been to!

Brought my aunt from Rock Creek in to the ER and the immediate care she was shown/given was heartwarming. Rochelle took her information then Katie the intake nurse was like superwomen. Her professionalism and ability to multitask considering the circumstances was so impressive. Lynnae the bedside nurse rushed in with Amara and other professionals to prep and run tests. After Dr Holders brief but efficient visit Christina took over for Lynnae then Linda and David swiftly grabbed the x-rays. Sue politely retrieved my aunt for a scan. Everyone was amazing! Highly recommend this place and the night staff.Thank you for showing you care and assisting in my aunts recovery! (Also still waiting on the pizza)

Dr. Goldman is by far one of the BEST doctors we’ve encountered while on this unexpected medical journey. She’s dedicated, educated, caring and persistent. She goes above and beyond to ensure our needs are met and that we understand the what and why for chosen treatments. Although busy, she genuinely takes time to listen and doesn’t rush appts. Absolutely love her!!

Good morning, I drive people to medical appointments to over 24 facilities in the NE Ohio area. Ashtabula County Medical Center is rated one of the lowest patient care and patient services facilities,I believe. Looking at doctors available in the area to parking and computer communications with other facilities and even within their own facility. They are going thru a major build and ad on and up grades in many places thru out the facility. Parking for patients is horrible. Now they are offering free valet parking. I was told to boost patient usage of the facility. Bathroom up grades that are not upgrades for patient well-being. You still have to touch everything,no non touch controls. If you go to Lowes, they have that stuff,Ashtabula County Medical Center is not concerned in patient sa

To be treated so horribly is beyond words. This hospital is covering up for their worker, unless they just actually have no clue whom they have working for them. A female came busting through my daughter's room door after surgery as I was walking her into the bathroom, Shakey and all and accused me, my grandson and his fiance of smoking in the room saying it's going down the hall. We told her no one is smoking in this room and she continues to yell at us. Ummm excuse me, I don't know who you think you are but you're lucky I was helping my daughter in the bathroom. Not one apology and they have no clue who she is, the hospital says. Which now concerns me even more, if they have no clue who's working on their floor, how are they doing business?

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Ashtabula County Medical Center
What does Ashtabula County Medical Center do?
Ashtabula County Medical Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Ashtabula, OH that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Ashtabula County Medical Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Ashtabula County Medical Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Ashtabula County Medical Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Ashtabula County Medical Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
