I did an at-home sleep study on April 6, 2026. Three weeks later, they have not contacted me with results. I am kind of hoping they won't, because I could save the $150 fee that's out of pocket. A week ago, I started using an app on my phone created by Harvard doctors and I am doing just fine falling asleep and waking up without an alarm. I'm no longer worried about sleep apnea.

Regarding the sleep lab: when it used to be Barclay Sleep Center it was new and wonderful. I went there recently to pick up overnight sleep study equipment and was shocked at what a filthy, grubby, cluttered, dusty mess this place had become. Stacks of old paperwork 2 feet high on just about every surface. One woman running the entire front office and clearly overworked, as evidenced by her at-home loungewear, haggard appearance and casual, unprofessional demeanor. She is the only one handling phone calls, so good luck trying to get through. She will eventually call back and is a nice person— not her fault the business doesn’t provide adequate staffing. I doubt very much that if they cannot manage to maintain a clean front office, that their sleep lab facilities are any better; so th

I highly advise that those in search of good and professional care stay away from this practice. The nurse, Justin, was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful towards both me and my father who were both receiving immunotherapy injections. For a reason unknown to us, Justin was okay with my father leaving right after receiving his injections. Yet, he was adamant that i remain in the office for 30 minutes after my injections. After about 4 weeks of injections twice a week, Justin then decided to change the rules for my father since I only waited for 15 minutes instead of 30. On top of all this, Dr. Ibrahim was never present for any of the injections. Injections were administered by Justin and Justin only, which goes against protocol. Overall, a very poor experience with an unprofessional

My PCP, Dr. Giacomo Folden recommended Washington Sleep Center to have my potential Sleep Apnea diagnosed. All of Dr. Folden's previous recommendations, Dr. Vrabec (Cataract surgery), Dr. Frisch (Knee Pain) turned out to be consummate professionals. Not so with Washington Sleep Center. Their casual patient care attitude is very disappointing. I went through an at home Sleep Apnea test ~ 3 weeks ago, did not hear a word of follow up from them. So, after 3 weeks I called them to find out what is their plan regarding my test report. The concerned doctor had not analyzed my test results, yet. I was told that the doctor WILL (no firm timeline) submit a report to Dr. Folden.

Five stars are not enough for this rating. The facility, the doctor, and the staff all exceeded my expectations. The friendly, efficient staff were a great introduction as I walked in the door. Dr. Go was an attentive, informed and caring Physician. The facility was spotless and very comfortable for my sleep study. I cannot think of anything they could improve. Thank you!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Washington Sleep Center
What does Washington Sleep Center do?
Washington Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Rochester Hills, MI that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Washington Sleep Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Washington Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Washington Sleep Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Washington Sleep Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
