Needed to contact uNITE to ask a question and just saw these other reviews. I had the polar opposite experience. From start to finish I have had nothing but excellent response time, professional treatment, and hopefully I'm on my way to better sleep and health as a result. Sarah is INCREDIBLE - super knowledgeable and helped me create a great workable plan. Taylor who helped in scheduling my appointments definitely was timely in her call backs, appointment reminders, and pinning me down ;) Celia (who by the way answered the phone in a very timely manner and gave me all the information I required) was very professional and kind. Based on my experience, I highly recommend uNITE!

My experience with Sarah as my provider last fall was fantastic. I was apprehensive about going the c-pap route, but her demeanor and ability to explain my sleep study findings and the c-pap process left me with a confidence and positive attitude that I was going to have success adapting to this new way of sleeping. I ended up taking to it like a duck to water. Not bad for a guy in his later 60s. She also successful switched me to a different style of mask a few months after starting my c-pap usage. The one thing I would ask of this clinic when being sent out for a mask fitting is that you ask them for at least TWO mask fitting providers. I was sent to Isleep for my fitting without any other choices and there are other choices out there as I recently found out. I absolutely can't wait to g

This is the most unprofessional medical staff I've ever encountered!! They don't return phone calls and their location is difficult to find. They are quick to tell you if you're 5 minutes late they will reschedule and charge you $50. My husband and I wondered up and down the street for 15 minutes trying to find the place. I had to call 5 times before anyone answered and couldn't tell me exactly where they were located but didn't hesitate to threaten me with that $50 charge. I turned around and went home and I live 2 1/2 hours away.

Sarah Teixeira - 5 stars Staff - 2 stars Sarah is absolutely amazing, BUT doesn't get her messages in a timely manner. I've had nothing but fantastic care from her. Unfortunately, the staff don't relay messages or follow up with things that were discussed in appointments. I'm disappointed this reflects poorly on Sarah's care. Working within the medical field I understand how important it is for patients to have some access to their providers regarding concerns/treatment while also balancing out their time/energy. Sarah Teixeira will always be my go to provider as she has always addressed my needs, questions, concerns and health issues. She's attentive, listens, doesn't judge, is an advocate for women's health and wellness, and truly cares about you. She treats her patients with dignity and

I received a referral for here from my pcp and text messages from uNITE sleep with direct and main lines to call to schedule an appointment. The text message said they tried to reach me today, but my phone didn't ring today at all. When I tried to call the direct line, I got a voicemail, and when I called the main line, I got put on hold for 10 minutes before hanging up. I texted the number I was originally texted from, letting them know that I couldnt get through, and was told I need to schedule a phone call to schedule an appointment. 🤣

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about uNITE Sleep Institute
What does uNITE Sleep Institute do?
uNITE Sleep Institute is a sleep medicine clinic in Reno, NV that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at uNITE Sleep Institute?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact uNITE Sleep Institute directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at uNITE Sleep Institute?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at uNITE Sleep Institute?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
