After my previous ENT retired I tried another practice but wasn't happy. I then thought I would try Triangle Sinus Center. I am so glad I did! I have seen Dr VJ Patel, Dr Hannigan, Elizabeth (audio tech) and Jackie and Alexis (PAs). Everyone has been wonderful! The office staff included! Welcoming, helpful, informative, kind, and compassionate! I have already recommended TSC to several of my friends.

I’ve had 2 visits in the past two weeks & Im feeling so relieved to finally have a plan to tackle my sinus issues. Jackie did such a great job explaining everything and validating what I was feeling. She came up with a great plan for me and gave great information on how we would tackle the problem. The whole experience with Triangle Sinus center has been amazing. From Nadia who always gives me a laugh and made my 3 year old feel comfortable as he tagged along to my appointment, to Crystal who gave great explanations during my allergy testing and calmed my anxiety surrounding the test! I can’t thank the staff enough!

The doctor was very polite, attentive, and clearly knowledgeable. I felt comfortable with their care and appreciated the time they took to explain things. However, I was surprised to receive a bill for an endoscopy that was performed during the visit. I have a high-deductible insurance plan, and the cost was not discussed beforehand. Although I signed a consent form, it did not include any pricing information. I would have appreciated being informed of the cost in advance so I could make an informed decision. Greater transparency around procedures and pricing would greatly improve the patient experience.

Everyone was so very nice. From the front desk all the way back to the nurse and the doctor that I saw. They took a CAT scan of my sinus cavity and showed it to me and explained where I had the issues. I like the fact that they didn’t jump immediately to wanting to do surgery they are going to try four weeks of antibiotics and flushing my nose and Flonase. We will go from there after all that to see whether I have to have surgery or not. But they were very nice explained everything followed up with me so if you’re looking for a Sinus place, Triangle sinus is the one for you.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Triangle Sinus Center

What does Triangle Sinus Center do?

Triangle Sinus Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Raleigh, NC that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Triangle Sinus Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Triangle Sinus Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Triangle Sinus Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Triangle Sinus Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
