The Care, compassion and concern that Alaysia Had was amazing. She answered all my questions came and checked on me. Her patience was above and beyond the call of duty seen as I had to go potty every two hours. Lol I was really impressed with her professionalism. Donna, who runs the front office. Does an amazing job at organizing and getting you ready for your visits. You guys did a great job and I really appreciate it. The place is very clean. The beds are extremely comfortable and I felt like I was at home.

Jensen Beach location - I was pleasantly surprised. The technician was awesome. Very clean. I brought my own pillows, top sheet & blanket. The only downside was the sticky goo they use to attach sensors to your scalp.

I wanted to highly recommend the center. Especially if you get to pleasure to interact in with Donna. Donna is one of the most professional service members I encountered in a long time. She’s very thorough. She goes above and beyond to make sure that you understand the process and information and makes it very clear and easy to understand. She definitely cares about her job in her role and it shows and how she treats patients. So I just wanted to recommend this place and give a shout out to Donna on the great service as she delivers.

If you must have a sleep study done I highly recommend Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders. I went last night & let me say, from the moment I stepped inside & was greeted by my technician, Sally, until I left this morning, she was very pleasant, courteous, etc. When I first called about ins & scheduling I had the pleasure of speaking with Kim, Lisa & lastly, Sandie. I must say that EVERY staff member I dealt with had the compassionate qualities you would like to find in the medical field. You know, that great bedside manner that many doctors don’t have. The facility in St. Lucie West was very clean, beds are comfy & they make you as comfortable as possible even with numerous electrodes all over you.

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at Treasure Coast sleep disorders, from scheduling my appointment easily with Donna to the facility itself which was clean and comfortable. The room was similar to a hotel room. The bed itself was comfortable, and there was a television set for some distraction. For me, the best part of the experience was my tech, Dinah who was extremely calming and reassuring, as I was quite nervous when I came in never having done a sleep study before. Dinah was both friendly and professional, responding to all of my needs in a very compassionate manner. If you need sleep testing done, I would highly recommend this facility.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders

What does Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders do?

Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders is a sleep medicine clinic in Port St. Lucie, FL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Treasure Coast Sleep Disorders?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
