Benham and Lexi took care of me during my stay, I had a night and day study. When I first arrived I was really impressed by how nice the room I was in, it was equivalent to a very nice hotel room. The bed was adjustable so I was able to make it comfortable for my preferences. Both Ben and Lexi made sure any of my concerns or needs were addressed. This was my first sleep study and I’m really glad it was there, they made me feel comfortable and safe, which I was nervous about. If you need to have a sleep study done, the wait for the appointment is worth it, there’s a reason why there is a wait. I hope your experience is as comfortable as mine was.

I had a very uncomfortable experience during my sleep study at this facility. The building feels like an old apartment, and outside traffic noise is easy to hear until late at night. I could also hear the technician walking around, which made it hard to relax. The room wasn’t fully dark either, exterior light leaked through the curtain edges. There was a constant ticking sound near the bed, and the room temperature never felt right. The A/C kept turning on every 45 minutes or so, even though it was cool outside, which made the room less comfortable. The oxygen sensor on my finger became tight and painful after a while, and the chest and stomach straps felt too tight, causing upper‑back discomfort after lying on my back for several hours. A sleep lab should feel more like a quiet, comfort

My amazing experience was with Jazmin the manager. I can not say enough about her! The sleep study wasn't for me at this time because I need extra help due to my serious disorders with sleep and I must say Jazmin went outside her normal scope and reached out to doctors that I had no way of finding out about to help me. She made some calls and was not only able to get me an appointment with a sleep specialist, but an appointment only a week out. Her only responsibility is the issues with the Sleep Management Inc. Jazmin heard my pain and frustration. She had two phone calls with me both over an hour each and she took her time with me and never rushed me. Jazmin did what 4 previous sleep specialist couldn't do which was simply help me and realize how difficult my sleep disorders are. Sleep

I bumped the stars up to a 3 ONLY because of Ben at the Oviedo sleep study. (He is great) Everyone else would get 1 or 2 stars. After my first sleep test stated I had a severe issue I was told I’d hear from Total Sleep Management within 2 weeks.. I didn’t so I called them.. I was told nothing was even processed yet and they are short staffed. (It’s unprofessional to give excuses) Two more weeks passed and the doctor had to contact them. Finally they called and a week later I did a second study. And was told they’d have the results finalized within 7-9 days.. NOPE still nothing .. my doctors office reached out AGAIN and was told there’s results but they are not finalized. It’s very frustrating.. I have had a coworker and a friend start this process after me and they had their machines be

Great staff, comfy beds! It's a place where you go to figure out why you're not sleeping, but then you get hooked up with a million wires which makes it tough to sleep! Sleep apnea is a real thing and the process works.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Total Sleep Management

What does Total Sleep Management do?

Total Sleep Management is a sleep medicine clinic in Oviedo, FL that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Total Sleep Management?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Total Sleep Management directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Total Sleep Management?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Total Sleep Management?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
