Had my sleep study done and was told I would have my results in 5 to 7 days... Almost a month later, after many phone calls to find out the results I finally got the results only to find out I do have apnea. On top of the major delays waiting for the results turns out that they didn't forward the results to my doctor or the CPAP company. After reading more reviews I don't believe they care about their patients. Way to drop the ball guys.

Our company sent us here for sleep tests and they determined the majority of us needed cpaps and threatened to report us to DOT if we didn't comply. We got second opinions, turned out we didn't need cpaps after all. Our company was quick to disassociate with the Sleep Better Institute and swept the whole experience under the rug. Get a second opinion folks.

These people are crooks. they contact me after receiving the referral from my doctor tell me that they have the prior authorization with no talk of copay or cost that they bill the insurance. They tell me to wear the test for 3 night to make sure they have the needed info. then they bill my insurance get paid then bill me for 1200.00 on top of it . after thanking has been addressed. they send it to collections and now sending to collections. and on top of that there test was wrong and had to be redone I share this hoping to save someone else the grief and humility of there dishonesty, i guess i need a lawyer

If it were possible, I would give several sets of five stars to this wonderful place and to the people who work there!!! The people there have helped several of my family members and relatives who suffer from mild to severe forms of sleep apnea and other sleeping issues. They have also helped a few of my friends who I have referred. These people who were struggling with their sleep and energy levels are now doing so much better. In two of the cases with my friends, it changed their lives drastically, and I honestly believe they will live longer now that their condition has been recognized and taken care of. -THANK YOU!- The people that work at this institute are professional, knowledgeable, kind, and considerate. I am so grateful for this wonderful place. :)

They had really awful communication with me and with my dr who recommended me. There was all kinds of run around and if they don’t have all the information they need they don’t let you know. And if they should have the information or a way to get it, it gets lost in the abyss and again, no one reaches out to let you know they are waiting on something. This process took 3 months to complete because of the awful communication. Now I get the bill and there is no way to pay online, only by mailing in, which seems way out of date and inconvenient. They need some better systems put in place because it was just ridiculous.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about The SleepBetter Institute
What does The SleepBetter Institute do?
The SleepBetter Institute is a sleep medicine clinic in Brigham City, UT that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at The SleepBetter Institute?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact The SleepBetter Institute directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at The SleepBetter Institute?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at The SleepBetter Institute?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
