I was a patient here for a few years and didn't really have an issue until this last time. I needed new supplies for my CPAP and made an appointment for 9/2. I went and explained I needed supplies. They saw I was meeting my compliance and everything was good. I waited a week and had not heard from Owens so I called them and they informed me that the doctor never sent my order over. So I called Randawa's office and they said they did. What happened next was the most ridiculous few of months of my life. I kept bouncing back and forth from Randawa's office saying they sent it to Owens saying they still don't have it. This dragged on for 3 months until Randawa's office realized she never noted I needed supplies (which I explained was the whole reason I was there). It was so long for them to re

There is a reason they have 2 stars. They didn't know how to process insurance, caused delays, schedule 6 mo out for urgent cardiac patients and then FAILED to find his SEVERE sleep apnea that has been documented 3 times at EVERY PRIOR SLEEP STUDY. I'm not even sure they tried, tbh. I think it's just an expensive hotel that bills your insurance. Fun fact when I told them I wasn't happy with the sleep study they performed, they flagged me as "aggressive"in MY chart notes, even though I had never been seen there, only my son. So, I guess now it's time for a law suit.

One of the worst “medical” experiences I’ve ever had in my life. (The technician who conducted the overnight study was INCREDIBLE - everyone else is horrendous.) I went for the follow up for my son’s sleep study results, after having waited weeks, and my son was not with me (he was 9). They told me they couldn’t see me without my son. I persisted and explained I just needed my son’s results and I am his legal guardian, so I didn’t understand why I couldn’t have the results. They continued to tell me the doctor wouldn’t see me so I then asked for them to just print off his results. They tried to tell me no for that, too (the doctor was standing me hind them quietly for most of this conversation). So I called my son’s doctor’s office to ask if they are allowed to refuse to give me my son’s m

My husband goes here and most of his appointments get rescheduled with less than 24 hrs notice. Dr’s bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the nurses are always pleasant and efficient.

My referral was approved 2 months ago. I never received a message or a phone call to schedule and when I tried to call them myself, nobody answered and there was no option to leave a voicemail. Extremely unprofessional. Edit: I tried calling this sleep center a handful of more times to try to get ahold of someone. On one occasion someone answered the phone, put me on hold immediately, and then hung up so I went to an answering service. The answering service would not allow me to leave a message unless it was an emergency. After 3 or 4 tries, I was finally able to reach someone. They could not explain why they never reached out to me, and I was finally able to schedule. I arrived to my sleep study on time, packed for a night at a hotel like the instructions said to. The technician did no

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about The Sleep Disorder Center, Inc

What does The Sleep Disorder Center, Inc do?

The Sleep Disorder Center, Inc is a sleep medicine clinic in Yuba City, CA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at The Sleep Disorder Center, Inc?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact The Sleep Disorder Center, Inc directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at The Sleep Disorder Center, Inc?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at The Sleep Disorder Center, Inc?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
