I had a positive very experience here. I get anxious a lot and the last thing I wanted to do was try to sleep with wires attached to me. The technician Vitaly was kind and understanding, explained everything well. Clean facilities and friendly staff. So a good place to go for a sleep study.

I had originally booked a sleep titration test at a facility closer to home, but their earliest appointment was almost two months away. So, I checked with my insurance and searched within a 60-mile radius for other options. I didn’t mind driving a bit if it meant getting the test sooner. The photos online, both on Google and the company’s website, made the place look decent. I didn’t check Google Street View, though, and I might have reconsidered if I had. When I first called to ask if they did sleep titration tests, the person on the phone was friendly and accommodating. They confirmed they did them and told me to have my doctor send over the order. Since the lab was covered by my insurance, I had my doctor send it in that day. When I called back to schedule, I was surprised to hear they

The receptionist Sabina was very nice, because of her I was able to get a same day appointment. I explained to her I need the sleep study for a job, and after someone canceled she called me right away to offer me to come in sooner. I was nervous but when I got there Mani made sure I was ok, he even went to the store and got me a cold bottle of water because the one I had was hot. The sleep tech (I feel bad I didn’t get his name) but he was patient, nice and explained everything step by step. The bed was comfortable and I fell asleep within ten mins. I was able to see the doctor in a reasonable time for my results and he was nice and caring. I highly recommended this place.

I had a great experience at Sunset Sleep Diagnostics. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and made sure the environment was quiet and comfortable for me to sleep in. I have a hard time sleeping away from my home and bed but the staff made it so much easier. Even throughout the night I felt safe and taken care of. Highly recommend this place for anyone who needs a sleep study done.

Had an amazing experience at Sunset! The thought of having to sleep somewhere else for a sleep study was daunting but I was pleasantly surprised. The office was very clean and staff could not be friendlier. The rooms are big, comfortable and well designed. I felt like I was right at home and had complete privacy. The staff went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and the place was kept quiet allowing me to sleep through the night. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sunset Sleep Diagnostics
What does Sunset Sleep Diagnostics do?
Sunset Sleep Diagnostics is a sleep medicine clinic in Brooklyn, NY that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sunset Sleep Diagnostics?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sunset Sleep Diagnostics directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Sunset Sleep Diagnostics?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Sunset Sleep Diagnostics?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
