The experience was quite nice for a sleep study. The bed was quite comfortable, nice blankets, pleasant environment. The assistants were great and respected my space and my military service.

This place was awesome to me! Had a veterans affairs sleep study done and Kurt and “D” were super professional and kind. Funny too! Only good things to say about them.

★★★★★
This place surprised me. I was not expecting such a nice room with amenities. Kurt who conducted my study explained everything throughly and was very professional. He made sure I had a business card to contact office for a copy of my study. It was emailed to me 2 days after study. I did not even have to call. I highly recommend anyone requesting a sleep study to request this place.

★★★★★
Lousy. Run away as fast as you can. Incomplete information. Won't return phone calls or emails. Can't reach Kurt. He's always taking care of other patients. Never time for current patients. Wife bern waiting for a call or email since November 2020. Finally changed dkctors and vendors to really professional people that truly care about their patients. New vendor showed and helped with things we had no clue about because of incompetent service here. Never use this place!

There's a reason why they're rating is so low. If you need anything dealing with a sleep study DO NOT use them. The man who answers the phone is very rude. They received my referral and did not submit my authorization for two weeks. I called and they tried to blame me for the issues they were experiencing. Instead of trying to solve my problem the so called Director went back and forth with me for over 10 minutes. I've been trying to get my CPAP machine for over 2 months now. I wish I could leave a 0 star. They do not do their jobs, lose paperwork and then try and say no one sent in the right paperwork although you called and confirmed that it was there. The so called "IT" man will not do his job. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE TO ANYONE. I had all of my records sent to someone else f

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Southern Sleep Studies
What does Southern Sleep Studies do?
Southern Sleep Studies is a sleep medicine clinic in Fayetteville, GA that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Southern Sleep Studies?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Southern Sleep Studies directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Southern Sleep Studies?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Southern Sleep Studies?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
