The staff were kind. My issue is that I went in for a sleep study and they did not inform me that the air conditioning was down. It's mid July. The room I was staying in was 75 degrees when the door was open and their make shift hallway ac's were blowing into the room. However, when it was time for bed and the door was shut it got much more uncomfortable. There was no circulating air. I didn't sleep. Not because of the cords everywhere, but because I was sweating so much. I feel bad for the tech that had to strip the sheets because I'm sure it smelt like I had just walked 4 miles in the swamp before coming to plop down on the bed. I should have been given the option to reschedule before making arrangements for my kids and showing up at 9 pm on a Wednesday. I would have at the very least b

The university of Utah Sleep Wake Center is an Epic failure. I received a message three weeks ago that there was an issue with my CPAP data that needed to be reported to insurance. I cannot get any specific answers from the university of Utah Sleep Wake Center. I am 100% compliant on usage of CPAP therapy. I cannot get Any helpful information or responses. It appears the only concern from my Dr and the support team is getting their money. There appears to be no concern about my sleep therapy, I have received no calls or messages regarding issues with my usage from a patient perspective , That there might be an issue with my treatment. It only seems To concern them that being reimbursed is at risk

I have had a great experience with this sleep clinic so far! Dr. Sadrija is excellent to work with and the tech that ran my sleep study was incredibly friendly and explained things very well. Each sleep study room has an en suite bathroom, including a shower so you can get ready in the morning. Communication via the MyChart app is seamless. I can't say enough good things!

Did an overnight in lab sleep study last night and my technician was super nice and helpful. Had a good experience considering I was hooked up to all the possible wires you can imagine. They told me to wash out the paste at home so if you were expecting to do it there, know that you'll have to drive home with it in and shower, but it comes out fairly easy with warm water.

Some of the staff is nice. However they all talk down to you and act like they don’t know what you are dealing with. Dr. Zayed is nice but talks down to you and seems to be asking you for solutions to your condition. If I had solutions to my conditions I would be sleeping better, not there. 2 sleep studies and their solution is to change the pressure on my CPAP remotely, like I haven’t already researched and tried that on my own. The staff was gossiping behind the desk, then after 30 minutes one of them pulled me back to “ask me questions” then another 30 minute wait for 3 minutes with the “doctor”

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sleep Wake Center
What does Sleep Wake Center do?
Sleep Wake Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Salt Lake City, UT that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sleep Wake Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sleep Wake Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Sleep Wake Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Sleep Wake Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
