We attended this sleep center for my son’s study under the condition that a parent must stay overnight - and that accommodations would be provided. That did not happen. The room had one bed and a semi-reclining chair unsuitable for sleep. In a facility dedicated to sleep, that’s a basic failure. Worse, the chair area had visible ants and all on the flooring. Staff moved us, but the second room had a broken recliner that wouldn’t hold position and didn’t feel clean. This isn’t a minor inconvenience - it’s a sanitation and standards issue. If you require parents to stay, you must provide a functional, clean place to sleep. We left and will seek care elsewhere. I do not recommend this facility. The Queen’s Medical Center is a better option, and there are likely others that meet basic expe

This is the worst place I have ever been to. Went there to get a sleep test done. Super small place with hardly any staff. Went in a room they said watch a video. The video they played was a video that you should of seen before you got there had nothing to don with what was next or anything that came with being there went over what to pack and a bunch of other random things. Video goes off no one ever comes in now I’m hungry aggravated so of course I’m not going to go to sleep. I waited over an hour for someone to come help me. It seems that there was only one person because even after they put everything on I had to go to the bathroom and I was told I had to wait because the person wasn’t available. Fast forward the test is over and I didn’t receive my results. They said they were sent to

I just left the Sleep Center - extremely friendly staff, accommodating, and comfortable conditions. The technician was great! Know, you will receive your results in about a week and a followup from the Doctor once the results are reviewed. LL

I am very disappointed with the level of service at this clinic. Communication is extremely difficult, as calls are consistently routed to an offshore call center rather than the local office. Furthermore, I have experienced recurring issues with incorrect replacement parts and unresolved billing discrepancies. Despite multiple assurances that my concerns would be escalated and addressed, I have yet to receive a follow-up. I would recommend looking elsewhere for more reliable care and administrative support.

It looks like they made a new account and got rid of their old reviews. Stay away from this company and literally buy from anyone else or online. I was so happy that they offered free home shipping of CPAP supplies as their parking can get very congested and there is no area for pickups. However, they continued to send me wrong parts and refused to pay for shipping. The only way to return them, is for you to take off of work and return them to their office. They don’t respond to emails or calls and the only people you can get a hold of is there overseas support who has no authority or power to make any decisions. Everything has to go through Taylor and their main office, which again is almost impossible to get a hold of them. At the end of almost 6 months of going back and forth and

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sleep Center Hawaii-Aiea

What does Sleep Center Hawaii-Aiea do?

Sleep Center Hawaii-Aiea is a sleep medicine clinic in Aiea, HI that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sleep Center Hawaii-Aiea?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sleep Center Hawaii-Aiea directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Sleep Center Hawaii-Aiea?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Sleep Center Hawaii-Aiea?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
