Amber was really helpful, and really efficient! The beds are comfy, the rooms are a nice temperature too! A little tip for anyone going for a study, try to pee a few times before going to bed, I admit I was a tad anxious and had to pee like 3 times, not to be TMI but it was a time trying to keep all the delicate suction cups on lol. Oh and wear comfy clothes!!

I'll keep this short and to the point. Thank you Jonathan for being kind, courteous and respectful. He was very knowledgeable and made me comfortable. I am familiar with the process of sleep study because I had one before. Also, thank you Matize ( new trainee) for walking me through the study step by step. The facility is clean and the rooms are pretty cozy. I disliked all of the wires and the fact that the bed was too soft ,but hey I wasn't at home. Keep pushing you guys! God bless !

The facility felt clean, my technician Clarissa was a breath of fresh air. This was my first study and she explained everything in detail, made me feel comfortable in a foreign place trying to get some sleep. The bed was comfy enough despite being hooked up to all the leads. I would only change being able to have a private, closer bathroom & more noise proofing as you can hear other patients being treated.

Had a great experience for this Sleep study. Much better than others Ive had in the past. The rooms are really nice, carpeted and clean. You have your own bathroom whereas other places you have to share a jack and jill bathroom. I have a neck and back injury so I cant sleep in bed, they made sure to have a nice recliner put in the room for me which Im really thankful for. It would've been a very painful night without it. Megan was awesome! Very knowledgeable and personable. She explained a lot of things to me about the test and my machine setup. When I was woke up she explained what she could see from the data and said they'll do a full review and setup my next appt. Im definitely glad I was given their name as I was going thru another place and it was hard to even contact them. If you nee

May be they are good in the lab,But lady scheduling was very rude. They should be nice to patient and should be patience and simplify ,Once you have patient calling they got a name of you from prescribed doctor, They can simply get the paperwork needed from them because they refer to you,But they want sick people to get that from doctor and bring it to them How can patient do that,They can only provide doctor number so they can call and get documents needed, Because same doctor refrening so there should not be a problem, Even I have prescription now she wants notes too,Both things can be easily assessed from doctor office,May be she is new that's why she is rude

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Sleep and Wellness Centers

What does Sleep and Wellness Centers do?

Sleep and Wellness Centers is a sleep medicine clinic in East Amherst, NY that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Sleep and Wellness Centers?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Sleep and Wellness Centers directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Sleep and Wellness Centers?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Sleep and Wellness Centers?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
