I am highly dissatisfied with the billing department. They submitted unauthorized claims to my insurance company, which are both unbelievable and highly unethical. Furthermore, they refuse to resubmit the proper documentation to my primary insurance company, despite explicit instructions to do so. They appear to be completely disorganized, or they are simply trying to get quick payouts from my secondary insurance. Please be wary of this department.

My son has bad Asthma. Every time both Dr Richards son and dad are there they make sure my son is taken care of. Today I had to drive my son to the hospital and he was in very bad shape. The young Dr Richards took very good care of my son. The nurses and respiratory nurse was great today to.

This will be my hospital from here on. I'm 75 and had a TKR and the nurses were very caring and we're more like a friend. I had no worries and will be glad to see them for my 2nd TKR. I liked that there wasn't a lot of noise at night. It's a smaller hospital with very caring staff.

I was scheduled for a procedure at St. Al’s in Baker City today. First of all when I walked in, someone was waiting in front of me. I was asked to have a seat in the waiting room as I was blocking the front door. Since all the seats were filled. i stood. Seven more people walked in and had to stand. Two people were being served at the check-in counter. Ten minutes later, the same two people were still there. After I got checked in, Matt came to get me for my test. He informed me that one of the tests needed a physician, and there wasn’t a physician there today. So you will have to come another time. I had driven 11/2 hours to get to Baker city. First, the test order was wrong. Second, if the tests were scheduled, why wasn’t the personnel required to do the procedure there? This was a waste

My mother, Gail Brown, was transferred to St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Baker City, OR after breaking her hip, and she spent two weeks in the Swing Bed rehabilitation program. I stayed with her throughout her entire stay, and I cannot express how extraordinary the care was. Every single person we encountered treated her with compassion, respect, and genuine warmth. From day one, the nursing staff came in every hour to check on her — taking vitals, helping her to and from the restroom, refreshing her water, bringing tissues, tidying up her room, and making sure she was comfortable. Their cheerful attitudes and consistent kindness made an enormous difference in her healing. I want to personally recognize the incredible day nurses who cared for her: Cassie, Shaylee, Chrisa, Ashley, Bob, D

Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Frequently asked questions about Saint Alphonsus Sleep Disorders Center - Baker City
What does Saint Alphonsus Sleep Disorders Center - Baker City do?
Saint Alphonsus Sleep Disorders Center - Baker City is a sleep medicine clinic in Baker City, OR that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Saint Alphonsus Sleep Disorders Center - Baker City?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Saint Alphonsus Sleep Disorders Center - Baker City directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Saint Alphonsus Sleep Disorders Center - Baker City?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Saint Alphonsus Sleep Disorders Center - Baker City?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
