I don't know whether Dr. Freedman is a good doctor or not, but just like a previous reviewer I also tried to book appointment online and haven't heard a single reply/callback in a week. Then I tried calling and left a voicemail, with my phone number, and once again haven't received any callbacks. Thankfully this is not the only pulmonologist available nearby and I found someone else. I just... don't understand the logic behind the whole thing, if you (as a doctor) don't want new patients right now - at least have a human decency to make appropriate notice on your site and change your voicemail's prompt to reflect that, instead of selfishly wasting other people's time.

★★★★★

Excellent doctor, excellent staff, one of the very few doctors who listens to the patient. Dr. Freedman is highly knowledgeable and cares about his patients. He doesn't push medicines and has helped me many times over the years where other doctors couldn't figure it out - he truly is the best of the best in his field. Highly, highly recommend!

Don’t go here! Place is trash!! I tried booking an appointment online and After wasting time filling everything out, they sent me an email back saying that somebody would be in contact with me. Two days went by. Nobody called me or emailed me I Decided to follow up and call them. The girl on the phone seemed very incompetent. She took out all my information yet again and said someone would call me back in three days went by and nobody called me. I made an appointment with another Practice and everything got squared away immediately with no back-and-forth. Don’t waste your time with this place. They are completely unprofessional and the woman who answers the phone should be fired.

Dr Andrew Freedman is very thorough in diagnosing your symptoms and treating the problem. He is concerned about every health issue you have and addresses confidently and accurately. I have been his patient almost 30 years.

Dr. Freedman is an excellent sleep medicine doctor. He is thorough and caring. He uses telehealth appointments where appropriate, which is very convenient. He just recently helped me resolve an issue with my CPAP settings. I would strongly recommend Dr. Freedman to any actual or potential sleep apnea patient.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Group, LLC

What does Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Group, LLC do?

Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Group, LLC is a sleep medicine clinic in Monroe, NJ that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Group, LLC?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Group, LLC directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Group, LLC?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine Group, LLC?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
