My experience to date has been predominantly positive. However, I did encounter a few instances where there were delays in receiving timely callbacks, and the AI assistance was ineffective in promptly relaying my messages. I found that a more efficient approach is to directly contact Peak rather than waiting for a callback. Fortunately, Dr. Dodge provided exceptional service. He dedicated time to actively listen and thoroughly explain all pertinent information. His professionalism, amiable demeanor, and engaging personality were highly commendable. Peak Equipment, located adjacent, significantly surpasses its competitors in both the quality of equipment offered and the level of customer service provided. For optimal convenience, I recommend utilizing both Peak Neurology and Peak Medical E

Friendly, efficient and thorough. I was greeted as soon as I entered and people were smiling and I truly felt welcomed. They gave me the paperwork right away and told me which ones to prioritize. I arrived early and expecting to wait, but they got me in early so I didn't need to wait long. The paperwork was thorough and covered many things, and when I was with the NP she asked several important questions.

I did not keep my initial appointment with them, so there's only one thing I can speak to: AI. They have a virtual assistant who tries to get personally identifiable information out of you every time you call, even if it's just to leave a message. I saw another review here that said they use AI transcription and that you can't opt out. I called and asked if that was accurate. The human I insisted on speaking to confirmed that they use Freed AI (build on OpenAI code) and that if you don't sign the consent at the end of your first visit, they'll refer you elsewhere. This is nowhere in their webpage, so you'd have to pay for a first appointment to know this (unless you see a review and call first). If you don't want to give your personal medical information to AI and you don't want to pay fo

My son is 2 and he was seen by Dr. Nash. He was amazing with my son and he was super nice. I was really scared and he really had amazing bedside manner. He explained everything he was doing and what I could expect. I really appreciated how kind and caring they were when I was in such a scary situation. My son was so comfortable with him and just let him do his thing and put all the equipment on without a single problem. I was really surprised. Thank you so much Dr. Nash!

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about PEAK NEUROLOGY & SLEEP MEDICINE

What does PEAK NEUROLOGY & SLEEP MEDICINE do?

PEAK NEUROLOGY & SLEEP MEDICINE is a sleep medicine clinic in Anchorage, AK that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at PEAK NEUROLOGY & SLEEP MEDICINE?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact PEAK NEUROLOGY & SLEEP MEDICINE directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at PEAK NEUROLOGY & SLEEP MEDICINE?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at PEAK NEUROLOGY & SLEEP MEDICINE?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
