I am so grateful for the care my wife was shown during her admission to the hospital recently. It was so reassuring to see everyone treating her like she was one of their own family members. We were regularly updated on what was going on and what to expect next. Everyone there went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable while I stayed with her. The Nurse in charge went room to room to find a chair for me that would recline so I could sleep beside her, the nutritional staff brought me (surprisingly good) supper and breakfast, and Dr. Ayyot was very thorough with his treatment and follow up regimen. I felt safe knowing my wife was being taken care of, so I could focus on being there for her.

Seriously the last place on earth you want to go if you are having a medical emergency! If I could give negative stars I would! My daughter who is a liver transplant patient and immune compromised went to the ER last night because she spiked a fever. In case you dont know Fever + transplant = very bad!!! When she got there they barely touched her forehead with the thermometer swiper thing and said she didnt have a fever, (mind you at home her temp was reading 100.8 as soon as we realized she had a fever it is always straight to the ER. We didnt take anything for the fever before we left as we were rushing out the door cause its that much of a big deal!). They asked her if she was sure she had a fever cause they were getting 98.1. Instead of rechecking or even taking an oral tell they assum

I had a stroke. They sent me home. No scan, nothing. I went in with the absolute worst headache of my life and the doctor was mean that I am not a good patient. I went home, suffered for over two days as my situation deteriated. This should never happen to anyone. My blood pressure was 200/ something and everyone kepts saying that it's because i was in pain. I threw up over 8 times to the point i had nothing left in me. THEY SENT ME HOME.

I was very happy with the treatment I received while I was in the emergency room. They got me checked in, triaged, and into a room pretty quickly. The staff identified the main issue, treated it, prescribed medication to pick up, and I was on my way. I'm very thankful for them!

Had a terrible experience today 12//8/2025 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital. My wife had total knee replacement 12/4/2025 at Owensboro Health Hospital in Owensboro. Everything went great. Today she started PT at Greenville. I pull up to the main entrance door and go inside to get a wheelchair and they have been replaced with the new STAXI. No traditional wheelchairs available. Physical therapist said they have all been replaced. The new STAXI does not provide any support for a patient’s leg that’s had knee surgery. I don’t know who brainstormed this idea but they didn’t think it through. After getting her inside I had to hunt down a regular sitting chair and park it in front of her so she could prop up her leg up and have support. I’ll be going out to purchase a wheelchair

What to expect at a sleep study appointment
For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital Sleep Center
What does Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital Sleep Center do?
Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital Sleep Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Greenville, KY that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital Sleep Center?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital Sleep Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital Sleep Center?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital Sleep Center?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
