I’ve seen Dr Roy here for several years. He’s great, but the office staff and their practices leave a LOT to be desired! My FIL, had to cancel 2 appointments because of being in the Hospital. The office rudely stated that they won’t accept him as a patient if he cancelled a 3rd time. I received a notification from this office that they cancelled my appointment. This is the 2nd time they’ve done this to me! lol! Life must be special when you think you make the rules!

The doctor here is amazing! So kind patient understanding genuinely listens to you and wants the best for you! I wish the office staff shared this approach. Front office ladies are just snotty to be honest. I can’t think of a better way to describe them. They don’t follow up, they don’t respond to emails, and in office they’re just plain rude. Was planning to order my equipment through this location and be a patient- especially after these last few interactions I asked for a copy of my prescription and got the heck out of there. Had to come back and update further. They tried creating another Google listing to get rid of the reviews. Office staff on each visit is worse than the prior time. Just no manners. So much attitude. I really wish the doctors here were anywhere else because t

I started writing this review while remaining on hold past this point. I was on hold for almost 20 minutes altogether. This is a regular occurrence when calling this office for anything, as you can see from other reviews. Hopefully enough reviews will help change something because Dr Roy is a fantastic physician and I would recommend him to anyone struggling with sleep issues.

I should have read the reviews on here and on Yelp before I gave my sleep life to them. While the doctors at this location are great, the staff never answers the phone. The phones are answered only 1 out of 10 times when called. They very seldom return phone calls, and lab results are provided a month after you take the test. Please be aware of this very, very, very, very slow process. It appears that they are understaffed. I wish I had not done my test with them. If you are having problems and need attention DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE. Addtional there appers to be no record dept that you can request records to be sent. And the person who appers to be the office manger is NO HELP at ALL Stephanie.

My husband has been a patient for years and after reading the horrible reviews here and on Yelp (2.3 stars) I can see he isn't alone. He would like to switch but doesn't want to start over again with another sleep study. As others have noted, they rarely answer the phone or respond to patient messages or concerns. Horrible patient care.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute

What does Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute do?

Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute is a sleep medicine clinic in Dublin, OH that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
