Place is so dirty. My sister came in for emergency on her back. The room had so much hair on. The floor and hair with dust on the floor. Blood drops and not from Her. I thought the emergency rooms were supposed to clean and sterile after each paitent. The bed they put her on feom the ambulance ride was dusty and not clean. What if she came bleeding open wounds and that un clean bed gave a staff infection. One of the nurses were ni e but the one that came to taker to xray. Rude and acted like she was to good to being her job. No bed side manners such a sad place.

If i could give 0 stars, I would. Dr Escobar and his office do not COMMUNICATE with their patients. I met with him 1 week ago and had to take a mouth drug test which was negative. Here it is a week later and no pain relief, no meds nothing... I have a injection scheduled for the end of april and apparently there is no appts earlier than the end of april so i can talk with the dr about meds/pain, which l had already talked to him about a week ago... i've had 3 previous back surgeries and need another one and this dr refuses to help me.... how is dr escobar a pain dr yet won't help his patients? I've reached out to the office multiple times and never get a response and get told I will have to wait til the end of april to get a " follow up appt " and they would try to move up my injection...

I went to the lab on Saturday March 1st to get a yearly bloodwork draw. The young man was very good at his job and I was very impressed by his skills. I have a lot of problems getting my blood drawn so they have to take it from my hands...he was fantastic! Probably the best experience I have had in a long time!

UTMC's billing department is absolutely horrible to deal with. Every single time you call, doesn't matter if it's at 8am, 9am , 10am, etc..., "We are experiencing a higher than normal call volume." For the last five months, their billing dept has been trying to bill me for service from back in December. I had insurance, my insurance confirmed I had insurance, my insurance talked to their billing dept, but their billing dept keeps stating that I did not have insurance. NO ONE from their billing department seems to know what they're doing as my insurance confirmed that when they send my info to them, the message coming back is "Active" on insurance, but they can't seem to bill them appropriately. Mind you, all of my services from this visit at Toledo Hospital were already paid for by my

Hard pass on this hospital!!!! Pros: the nurse my son had was friendly, helpful and professional. He is the only reason for the 1 star. Cons: Place needs serious updating! Everyone was complaining about the wait time for the 3 elevators. Some people ended up taking the stairs out of frustration due to the long wait. My sons room was very outdated. There was NO BATHROOM in the room....just a toilet with a lousy curtain which gave him.NO PRIVACY!! The chair I sat in was old, and beat up. The hospital bed was extremely uncomfortable (per my son). The FOOD was DISGUSTING and INEDIBLE!! I would NEVER RECOMMEND UTMC to anyone I know.

What to expect at a sleep study appointment

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.

Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about University of Toledo Medical Center

What does University of Toledo Medical Center do?

University of Toledo Medical Center is a sleep medicine clinic in Toledo, OH that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.

Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at University of Toledo Medical Center?

Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact University of Toledo Medical Center directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.

How much does a sleep study cost at University of Toledo Medical Center?

Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.

Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?

Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.

How long does it take to get sleep study results?

Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.

Can I do the sleep study at home?

Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.

What should I bring to my appointment at University of Toledo Medical Center?

Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
