This has to be worst of any medical place thatbI have experienced in my 70 years. They don't do any follow ups. They make no contact to even let you know that your replacement device has arrived. I could go on but I will tell you that the inspire device works great for me. One big advice that I was just lucky to have before getting inspire. Make sure that you have a smartwatch to wear especially while your sleeping. It can tell just how well your doing and more. Just remember that you have learn and be aware of all the information you get depends on well or tight you wear the smartwatch. The readings can help you understand both the good and bad reading that the inspire device doesn't do. So, thank goodness I have my smartwatch and I give the inspire device 5 starts. Showed up for an appointment 10 minutes early and didn't see the doctor until an hour AFTER my scheduled appointment. No apologies or acknowledgment of their tardiness. Apparently, a customers(patients) time is not respected or valuable. To add to the insult, I get about 10 minutes of the doctors time as the most and am told they won't even talk about my issues until I am tested for sleep apnea. This sounds reasonable at first until I am told I cannot be tested in the environment I sleep in 5 out of 7 nights(a moving semi-truck) which is certainly a different sleeping experience than a stationary bed in a clinic. I then need to provide dates for this sleep study for the next 2 months since Sundays are the only time I have available for the sleep study. Now, a week after my appointment, I

I was referred to and met with Dr. Kaye for treatment of a bronchial condition. For my first appointment, I saw him 2 hours after our scheduled appointment. When I called to schedule the follow-up visit, I couldn’t get an appointment to see him for two months, so I made an appointment to meet with his associate, Dr. Stern. I saw Dr. Stern 90 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I then called the office manager, Barb James, and suggested that it might be considerate if someone would call patients when they recognized that the doctors were running late so that patients could schedule their time accordingly. When it came time for my third appointment, I called the office 30 minutes in advance of my appointment to find out if the doctor was on schedule. The first answer was “I don’t know

I have been going to this location for roughly 8 years now. When I first began going here the doctors took the time to help the patients understand why they recommend a CPAP device and how they are used. Now, the doctors are more in a rush to send you out to get the next patient in. I went there in December to get new supplies for my device. After waiting almost 30 minutes to be seen, it was recommended to try the nose mask instead of a full mask (which I currently use). I was given the pieces and was in and out within 15 minutes. I was not shown how to use the nose pieces correctly, only told. When I got home I tried using the new nose piece and have been unable to make it work. I changed back to my old mask after 2 weeks of trying to wear the nose one. The doctors used to allow

The in-person visits were good. The team seemed very knowledgeable and skilled. However, the communications, record keeping and follow-up is lacking. I have left 4 emails using their patient portal and I've gotten no response. The follow-up I was told to expect has not happened. And they have missed several payments I have made so I keep getting billed for fees already paid. Update 7/23/16 Still no response to multiple emails send using their online patient management system.Their online patient management system says: "Communications will be answered within 2 business days..." Since they have never responded to my multiple emails, I'd have to say, this fails the accuracy test. I called the clinic twice today to leave a message and request a call back but the system never connect

For an in-lab study, you arrive in the evening and sleep in a private room while sensors record breathing, oxygen, heart rhythm and body movement. For a home sleep test, the clinic gives you a portable kit you use in your own bed. Neither test is painful. Results are usually compiled into a physician report within one to two weeks, and the clinic then discusses whether treatment — such as CPAP therapy or an oral appliance — is needed.
Preparation basics: avoid caffeine in the afternoon, skip lotions and hair products, bring comfortable sleepwear, and take your regular medications unless your doctor advises otherwise.

Frequently asked questions about Minnesota Sleep Institute - Burnsville
What does Minnesota Sleep Institute - Burnsville do?
Minnesota Sleep Institute - Burnsville is a sleep medicine clinic in Burnsville, MN that evaluates and treats sleep disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome and narcolepsy. Evaluation usually involves a sleep study, and treatment may include CPAP therapy, an oral appliance, or behavioral therapy depending on the diagnosis.
Do I need a referral to book a sleep study at Minnesota Sleep Institute - Burnsville?
Many insurance plans require a referral or prior authorization before covering a sleep study. Requirements vary by insurer and by clinic, so contact Minnesota Sleep Institute - Burnsville directly using the phone number on this page and ask what your plan needs.
How much does a sleep study cost at Minnesota Sleep Institute - Burnsville?
Sleep study costs vary widely with the type of test, your insurance plan and your deductible. Home sleep tests generally cost less than in-lab studies. Ask the clinic for an itemized estimate and check with your insurer about in-network rates before booking.
Does insurance cover sleep studies and CPAP treatment?
Most US insurers, including Medicare, cover sleep studies and CPAP therapy when they are medically necessary and properly documented. Coverage details — deductibles, co-pays and supply replacement schedules — differ by plan, so verify with your insurer and the clinic.
How long does it take to get sleep study results?
Typically one to two weeks. A sleep physician reviews the recorded data and writes a report, after which the clinic discusses the findings and any recommended treatment with you.
Can I do the sleep study at home?
Possibly. Home sleep apnea tests suit many adults with a high likelihood of obstructive sleep apnea and no major heart or lung conditions. If your symptoms are complex or the home test is negative despite strong symptoms, an in-lab study is usually the next step. The clinic can determine which option fits you.
What should I bring to my appointment at Minnesota Sleep Institute - Burnsville?
Comfortable sleepwear, your photo ID and insurance card, a list of current medications, and your own pillow if that helps you sleep. Avoid caffeine after midday and skip lotions or hair products, because sensors attach better to clean skin.
